Trade

I send: Mendenhall and Maclin
I get: Braylon Edwards, Sid Rice and Clint Portis

Thoughts?

I'd be trading with the guy im facing, so if mendenhall breaks out, im gonna feel like an idiot.

Personally I like the trade. I think Clinton will at least be as good as Mendenhall the rest of the year and Edwards & Rice > Maclin all day.

Yeah I'd do that in a heartbeat. I like Mendenhall going forward but Denver's run D has been top notched so far this year, and Fast Willie is 100% again. Mendenhall will have to break a long one or be lucky enough to get a couple of goalline carries to really break out this week. Going forward, like YTG just said, Clinton should be at least as good. If only bc he's still getting most of the carries. As long as he stays healthy he's a safer option going forward.

As for the rest of the trade, jeez. Edwards is a low end #1 again on the Jets and Rice is bordering on that with Minnesota. At the very least, each of them is as good as Maclin and I personally think both are worth more than Maclin alone.

I'd say the only question isn't whether or not to do it but who to drop.

Yeah I'd agree with one of those two... don't know which one. I have both in different leagues. Bryant's still a #1 so could be useful if Freeman is any good (think about Mason with Flacco last year... he had blinders on for him). But he's got the knee issue and hasn't been much help for the other QBs TB's thrown out there.

Manningham seems to just always be open at the right time, but with the other WRs stepping up, his shoulder issue and 2 big drops I'm wondering if he's going to start losing targets.

I'm a Bucs fan, so I'm probably a little biased, but I think I'd drop Manningham over Bryant. The Giants seem to spread the ball around pretty well, and when Manning locks onto a guy, it's usually Steve Smith. Antonio Bryant is the #1 or #2 target for Tampa (him and Winslow), and with Freeman getting the nod for the rest of the year (I would assume he'll start the rest of the year), I expect him to lean on these two guys pretty good. Also, Bryant's actually outperformed Manningham in the 4 games since he's really been back. Either way, I expect both to get better as the year progresses, but I think Bryant has more upside for this year.

i dropped bryant because manningham still has a decent amount of trade value amongst the other gm's in my league...i've shipped bryant even for jamaal charles and was rejected.

I got another question...

Hasselbeck or Romo?

Last time Hasselbeck was supposed to carve up a really bad pass defense he gave me 1.8 fantasy points and i ended up losing my week by 10 points.

so i have major trust issues with him. but romo is facing a pass defense that allows a passer rating of 68 to opposing QB's.
