And now, a word from the Commish...

Week 17 is here! The final week of the regular season is upon us and just about every playoff spot has been claimed, with the AFC South divisional race still unsettled.

First off, apologies for taking so long to advance us to Week 17. My brother and his wife have been in town from California, and we all went to the Bills-Panthers game in Charlotte yesterday. Hell of a game by my boys (actually, both teams sucked, but Buffalo sucked less). I'm going to get us all back on track this week.

One other thing...tiebreakers. We have no idea how they are handled here with the Online Franchise. So my apologies in advance if anyone is screwed out of a postseason bid because of a screwy tiebreaking system. I have no control over how it'll be handled, but I'll operate here with this write-up as though it's the way it is in the real NFL. Some have suggested total points is THE tiebreaker, but I really have no idea. Hopefully that isn't the case but we shall see.

Week 16 Results

This sim-win for the Bolts keeps Houston's playoff hopes alive.

The kitty-cats remain in the race for homefield advantage in the NFC with this big win over the CPU Giants.

Atlanta clinches a playoff birth with this win over Buffalo at the Georgia Dome. For the Bills, they now hope for a share of the AFC East crown and a possible first round bye in the playoffs.

A feel good win for Coach Nyles and the Saints, keeping the Bucs winless heading into the final week of the season.

The Ravens blow a huge opportunity to be in the driver's seat for a first round bye in the AFC playoffs with this loss on the road at Pittsburgh.

Bragging rights were all that was at stake in this battle between two longtime OS members and former writers of the website.

Seattle is more than likely going to the playoffs now after this win over the CPU Packers.

The Pats pull into a tie with the Bills for first in the AFC East with this victory over the CPU Jaguars.

Johnny's Texans hoping to pull off an improbable season comeback with a win here, and now they need a win and a Tennessee loss for the AFC South crown.

The Bengals took advantage of a loss by Baltimore and pull into a tie with them for first in the AFC North.

The dream stays alive for perfection as the Raiders easily down the CPU Browns.

Coach Dookie's Niners will return to the playoffs this season after years of frustration in the Bay Area. Next stop...home field advantage, perhaps?

St. Louis keeps their faint playoff hopes alive with a win over Donny Moore's Cardinals.

Even the CPU controlled Colts can't win a game.

Coach Steve and the Boys join the hunt for home field advantage in the NFC by beating the hated rivals, the Washington Redskins.

Chicago is now in firm control of the NFC North division and look to be heading back into the playoffs under Coach Altimus.

Week 17 Schedule

Dallas already has the NFC East wrapped up but look to stay at home in Jerry World throughout the playoffs. A win by the Eagles here could crush those hopes.

This will more than likely be the final time we see Brett Favre in an NFL uniform as the Vikes have nothing to play for but pride versus the CPU Giants.

The Niners need this win to stay in the hunt for home field advantage in the NFC Playoffs. Meanwhile, the Rams need to win to have any shot at a postseason bid.

Dozens are expected to turn out for this pivotal game that will determine the NFL draft order.

The Bucs have an opportunity at NFL immortality with a loss here against Atlanta. Can Coach Holic finish the job and keep Tampa winless in 09?

Again, we're not sure how the tiebreaker works but if Buffalo loses and New England wins, we know for sure the Pats will be division champs, so chalk this up as a must win for the Bills.

As good as the Panthers have been this year, they don't have the division title wrapped up just yet. A win over the Saints would clinch it, but a loss would make things interesting.

Another division title is at stake in this one. Cincinnati needs a win and a Baltimore loss to win the division hands down.

Chicago clinches the NFC North with a win over the hapless Lions.

Coach Johnny has no choice but to win this game if they want to go into the postseason. Bad news for him is that the Patriots stand in his way, and THEY need a win to keep pace or overtake Buffalo as the AFC East champion.

Snoozefest in Miami as two CPU teams going nowhere face off.

Can Coach Donny crush every single season receiving record here? There are plenty of them within reach and since they're not going to the playoffs, what else is there to do but try to break records?

Reports out of Denver say this could be Coach Drotar's final game as the head coach of the Broncos. He'll try to go out on a winning note against their division rival KC Chiefs.

Coach Acid can clinch a wild card spot with a win over SoMiss and the Titans, but Tennessee may need to win this to win their division.

The Chargers could finish with a 10-6 record and miss the playoffs. On one hand, 10 wins should keep the owners happy. On the other hand, he'll go into the offseason wondering what could've been, had he won a game or two more.

And our Week 17 Game of the Week...

Coach Terry's toughest test yet to remain perfect, a game against the stellar defense of the Baltimore Ravens and Coach Millennium. The Ravens need to win this to stay alive for the division title and a first round bye. Or they could fall as far as a wild card team. Either way, it should be a good one.
