NHL 2k11 +/-(Wishlist) Thread

Hey people, this thread is about what you want Omitted(gone from NHL 2k10) and what you want brought back(previous versions 2k10-2k) or added(new features). Post away!!!

I'll start:

Replays and Stat Overlays during cutscenes.
Better cutscenes
5/4/3 Man celebrations for evry goal depending on the situation
Hats for Hat Trick
Stanley Cup celebration even more immersive(Banner raising, Locker Room Cutscenes, Trophy Distribution)
Game Specific Commentary(NBA 2k10!!!)
Better flow of animations

Great list kai.

I'll add BAP and EASHL.

I would also love to see the stickhandling changed somewhat. It's alright the way it is, but protecting the puck or toe-dragging should be done manually with the stick or a button.

Also, if they could exaggerate the wide stick handling for better puck handlers.

Lastly, the goalies and puck physics need more work. NHL10 has excellent of both. Emulate that.

Otherwise, 2K has a real gem on it's hands. Just smooth out some rough spots and add in a couple of things and bingo!

The two biggest things, imo are goalies and shooting responsiveness. These two things alone are what is keeping 2k10 from being a great game. 2k11 should absolutely go back to the amazing 2k8 goalies. 2k10's goalies bite way too much, are too quick laterally, and rely too much on the poke check. There are also far too many headfirst dives. I can't recall exactly which year they did that before. Might have been 2k6 or 2k7, but it's just as annoying and unrealistic now as it was then. I also think the cpu defense could use some tweaking so that they are more aware of opponents going to the net. That way they won't just collapse and allow good chances from the slot.

Bingo, was just about to post both of those (unresponsive controls & goaltenders) as two things that keep 2k10 from being enjoyable for me. Add in the lack of overlays and presentation factors (replays during stoppages) aside from the intros and post game wrap ups.

This nails it perfectly.

Re: NHL 2k11 +/-(Wishlist) Thread

I think the biggest thing they MUST improve for next year's game is smooth out the player and goalie movements to make them more natural looking and fluid. As it is now, there are so many more animations in 2K10 than in EA's 2010 but they just arent as fluid and natural looking. in 2K10, the players skate slow but yet their movements are all fast and jerky looking which makes the game look so unpolished and unfinished.

Its really a shame because this game beats NHL 2010 with a deaper more dynamic gameplay engine that results in a richer, more rewarding and varied game each time you play it. The physics are more realistic and the game looks and plays more like NHL Hockey you see on TV but the damn animations just dont flow together well and it is killing this game's appeal!

Fix the animations, add some more dynamic pounding and longer grinding in the corners.

And some more physical shoving and fighting for positioning in the trenches in front of the goalies. And please add more realistic after whistle skirmishes, tempers flaring, shoving, instigating and tusselling.

I love both hockey games, but I have a really bad feeling there won't be a 2k11 for 360/PS3.

Re: NHL 2k11 +/-(Wishlist) Thread

I haven't picked up 2K10 yet; however I love 2K9 and really just wish they would add the camera option to the main menu. The game is so much better from the Broadcast cam yet they insist on defaulting to the Ice camera and making us pause to change it over-and-over.
