Yeah best win of the season no doubt. With regard to the Texans game, the backup qb looks more than competant and speedy runningbacks scare me (Slaton). Hopefully Rolle will come back nicely and cover Johnson effectively. How are the Texans defense doing? More specifically, Williams?

We are going to sign Ray to a five year contract with 17 million signing bonus. Thank god.

5 years is a lot. Glad his situation is out of the way but I doubt we get 5 more years from Ray. Hope I'm wrong.

He'll play 4 more years for sure. He'll probably opt out of the last year. Now we just need to wrap up Suggs and I guess franchise Jason Brown.

I think I'm falling in love with this Joe Flacco kid. Now that he's starting to settle in, you can really see he could be something special. Next week will be the real test b/c their pass rush will be a lot tougher than Houstons (and the ravens won't be able to run at will to take pressure off of him), so it should be interesting to see if he keeps progressing. I'm a bit worried about Mason though. If he doesn't play then a bad game by Flacco should be expected anyway.

Suggs is really playing for his money. I hope they can find a way to keep him around.

Definitely a huge test next week. We need Mason. Also you are correct, running room next week will be tough to find.

Boys and girls, 2 games left to go, if we win out were in the playoffs. Man, imagine going 10-6 and missing them. 10 used to be the magic number. Hopefully we can pull it off but I'm deathly pessimistic with regard to the Cowboy game.

If the starting corners will be Rolle and Walker/Ivy, you should be deathly pessimistic. So lets say overall, we're both really scared of what the Cowboys can do offensively against us to get that out of the way... now with that said, Romo is no Peyton Manning and Barber (even healthy which he isn't 100%) is no Jacobs so I think we're safe from seeing another stinker like the Colts and Giants games. I know it's said the Ravens haven't played well under the lights but I disagree. If you look at the McNair years, they've been bad under the lights and it's usually been b/c of his play. I love McNair overall as a player but he was smoke and mirrors in Baltimore. Before him, even with the bad QB play, the Ravens were pretty good under the lights... and so far this year they've played well also. With the magnitude of the game, I think this is going to be a good one... not sure they'll win but it'll be a good one.

The word was out on McNair late through the 2006 season, zone up your defense and take away the tight end safety blanket and he was exposed. With regard to this game, Witten scares me almost as much as Roy Williams and TO. Also, they better get a running game going because if they don't Ware and company are gonna have a field day driving Flacco into the dirt. We need this one in the worst way, and I'm scared our season is gonna end Saturday night.

Re: Failed Blitz: The Official 2008 Baltimore Ravens Thread

I'm actually not that scared of Witten. He's still banged up and one good hit and he may be looking over his shoulder the rest of the game. I think the LBs and safeties can contain him but the quick slants and deep balls could be trouble. Witten could easily prove me wrong though, lol.

Dallas' D has played much better recently but I don't think they'll shut down the Ravens run game. I'm more worried about Flacco throwing a couple of picks. Newman will be blanketing Mason and you know when Flacco gets in trouble he just throws it his way. He's been better at throwing the ball away recently so lets hope that continues.
