I disagree with that. All he needs to be able to do is be a game manager, and they will have a chance to win. Granted, the last 2 weeks have been rough, (partially because of lackluster defensive play...come back soon wade!!) but I don't think delhomme or Garcia would be any better at this point considering they have just began to learn the offense.

You may very well be right, but isn't there more upside in going with a veteran? Both Dellhome and Garcia have had playoff experience, and both are more than capable of managing the game in the fashion the Texans need. I think Dellhome could even find a niche in the offense and make some plays.

Playing Yates, to me, is saying oh well, we'll get em next year boys. You can't hope to simple play good defense and hope to win each game 10-3 in the playoffs in my opinion. You need to at least be prepared need be to throw the ball down the field.

I definitely agree with you to an extent. You might be right about delhomme finding that niche with the offense, but I definitely don't think it's like saying we'll get them next year. Obviously they have faith in Yates' ability. I truly think if Delhomme looked better than Yates, we would have seen him by now.

There's a reason Delhomme and Garcia aren't rostered and haven't really been much of anything for years. You can't just throw a guy in bc he's a vet and expect results. Not to mention, Yates has played well and showed promise before Schaub went down. It's funny about the unknown. Some people assume they're better than they are and others assume they're worse. Bottom line is they aren't unknown to coaches. And honestly, Yates isn't unknown to us either. NateDog, you came here throwing Yates to the curb after he had a bad game. It wasn't his first start. He's not Schaub but Delhomme and Garcia DEFINITELY aren't either. He's done fine. You take Andre Johnson from any QB and they should be expected to struggle more than Yates has to this point.

Good points. I do think Kubiak knows Quarterbacks and at the time Yates was drafted, Kubiak stated he had the tools to eventually be an NFL starter. I'm not trying to throw him to the curb, as I always root for young Quarterbacks, but I still say they should give Dellhome a look. He's still a good player in my opinion.

That may be where we differ the most. I don't see Delhomme as being much of anything since the Panthers went to the SB, and I thought he was even overrated back then. Like I said, there's a reason he's been in the situation he's in for a few years now.

Exactly the point I made a few posts above. Obviously Yates looks better than Delhomme at this point. It's hard for me to believe that a playoff team would essentially say, "Let's get them next year," and not do their best to move on without their best quarterback.

Yates has been more than fine. It's a matter of Andre Johnson being healthy.

Yates makes rookie mistakes because, well, he's a rookie. But he's got a bit of that "it" when you look at him in the pocket. He's calm, cool, and collected always.

Give him the best WR in the game and good things will happen.

Derrick Mason Has Retired

Not that it matters anyway. It seems that FA and now former 15-year veteran WR Derrick Mason has apparently retired. At 37, he retired on a sad note; because he was cut just before the Texans made a final push into what could be AFC Championship Game and maybe the Super Bowl. He was cut by Week 16, I believe. He spent his better years with the Ravens earlier in his long career.

Even prouder to be a Texans fan.

So, moving forward, what's next ?

As TheMatrix hilariously put it and others, they need to get rid of #12 at all and any costs.

Biggest needs for the draft (#28) ? Free agency ?
