I like it. I think he will contribute. Any thoughts?
I love this move.

I think he will contribute too. It's just what you guys needed. Something that's definitely been missing since Big Trev left.

Is Dumervil starting too?

No, Dumervil comes in on passing downs. He'd get knocked around if he started.

Love the Rice signing, hopefully he'll be a beast off the end!

Yea I heard on Point After on NFL Network that Denver was considering starting Dumervil, however I agree he would get pushed around. I love this signing. I think the incentive based contract is great, is goes something like this:

$1,000,000 Base Salary 1 year
If Rice gets:
12 sacks it is an extra $250,000
14 sacks it is an extra $500,000
16 sacks it is an extra $750,000
18 sacks it is an extra $1,000,000

So in all he could earn up to $2,000,000 this season, and I hope he does cause that means a lot of sacks.

Definately not how you want to see them play, but they got the win. Thats the important thing is that we got the win, now lets move on to next week. Also Cutler had a great day throwing, his first career game over 300 yards.

He may have had a big game, but to me, he didn't look all that great. He made a lot of stupid decisions. That backwards pass was absolutely attrocious. Luckily, Young made a huge move and hit it out of bounds.

I am a fan of Shanahan calling those option plays though. It's something you rarely see, and Denver pulled them off pretty good. I also liked that little QB draw to get that 1st down late in the fourth quarter.

Travis Henry had a monster day, but that isn't surprising. I've been saying it for a while; Travis Henry has the talent to break 2,000 yards this season. With Denvers running scheme + Henry's talent, I would not be surprised to see him get close to 2,000 yards rushing.

Overall, decent game by Denver. I'd like to see Cutler cut down on the stupid mistakes(shovel passes, backward throw nowhere near young, etc..). If he takes it slow like he started to do in the second half, we could have a great season.

I have to give Cutler a break though, it is his 2nd year, he is young and mistakes are going to happen. Its week 1, and Im not saying he is amazing, but I want to see how he progresses this season. I can handle these stupid mistakes now, but if he is still making these later this season I am going to be worried. I hate the opening game, its seems like Denver struggles in their opener each year.

Shanahan is 11-4 in opening games, 9-4 with Denver.

We may struggle, but we win.

I know we do, but I have had enough scary moments in the last two days

Hawaii - Have them in suiside pool
Texas A&M- WOW 3 OT's scared me to death thought we blew it
Denver- Have to run on the field for a game winning FG

Enough possible heart attacks for me this weekend.
