NFL Head Coach>How to increase the playbook knowledge of a specific player?

One of my goals in the offseason are... increase playbook knowledge of LG Justin Blalock and LOLB Michael Boley, but I don't know how to do this... I only see the option of teaching the rookies the playbooks.

What are your ways to mastering the playbooks?

Also... I have Brady Quinn on my team. He's a 74 right now but his potential is 93! (I only got him for a fifth rounder!) But his knowledge of the playbook is close to zero... so when do you guys suggest I start him? I signed Trent Dilfer last minute to kind of 'mentor' him and play for him until he's ready. [Reply]

Once again- it's really not too hard to master the playbook. Play the first preseason game, running each play until it's at Mastered level Both for offense and defense. I hope you purchased Offseason Seminar, Regular Season Seminar, and Playbook Training before you started the career, because it will increase the rate at which you learn the playbook.

When you're close to the end of the game, quit and save the game. Start the first preseason game again, and you'll find that your playbook knowledge from the previous game has been retained! Keep running plays in the first preseason game until you have the entire playbook to the Mastered level. I always meet the learning level goals using the method. It takes a while to do, but it makes a big difference to have the entire playbook Matered when you start the regular season. [Reply]

Wow, I'm definitely going to have to start my career over again. Anyways, have some of you guys written guides for this game or something? You guys all know what you're talkin bout. [Reply]

There's a strategy guide out there if you're interested; it can be useful. Look on Amazon for it. I discovered the preseason playbook knowledge glitch one preseason when I canceled out of a game because of a injury to a key player. It'll work early in the preseason, but not once I get close to the regular season.

As for the 3 special skills i mentioned, they seem to increase playbook learning by 50%. It used to take me 6 or 7 reps to learn a play, but now I can do it in 4 with Playbook Learning. 3 or 4 more reps, and the play is Mastered. They make a big difference in learning the playbook. I have a theory it will stack if you Co-ordinators learn these special skills as well; I'll try it this year. [Reply]

Meh, don't really feel like purchasing a strategy guide for this. I'd rather feel things out on my own and go here to ask you guys for advice. [Reply]
