I was looking through the stats at the end of the season and I noticed some of the great QBs from the English Draft Path weren't doing so well. Here they are:
Jack English (ATL): 22-39, 258 yards, 1 TD, 4 picks, and a 45.6 QB Rating. He has been backing up Matt Ryan in Atlanta. Both of their contracts are set to end in 2 years. He won the only game he played in, a 20-17 overtime win against the Saints.
Kelly James (MIA): 247-414, 3081 yards, 23 TDS, 15 picks, and an 86.2 QB Rating. The previous 2 seasons he has thrown more picks than TDs. In three years he's thrown 50 TDs, 67 picks, and won 18 games.
Dane Morrow (TB): 306-519, 4388 yards, 31 TDs, 22 picks, and an 88.7 QB Rating. Dane Morrow has had the most success of the Big 3. He has posted 87 TDs, 60 INTs, and 31 wins throughout his 3 year career, leading his team to the Superbowl in his 2nd.
Cooper Reno (DET): 283-437, 3023 yards, 13 TDs, 20 INTs, and a 75.7 QB Rating. He has thrown for 27 TDs and 36 picks in 2 years, leading the dismal Lions to 12 wins.
Darius Pryor (BAL): 318-453, 4207 yards, 41 TDs, 7 INTs, and a 123 QB Rating. He has been amazing in his 2 years, throwing for 86 TDs, 18 INTS, and winning 31 games and 2 Superbowls.
Ryan Luck (BUF): 234-404, 3217 yards, 18 TDs, 21 INTs, and a 76.7 QB Rating. I dont know if I can call him a great QB but he was a top pick. He won 9 games in his first season.
Jordan Taylor (ARI): 221-367, 3097 yards, 31 TDs, 8 INTs, and a 106.4 QB Rating. Taylor was a star in his first year in the league. While he only won 5 games, he carried home the OROY award and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl.
It just seemed weird to me that some of the great QBs have sucked, while others haven't gotten a chance. Jake Scott would go on this list but he has not played yet. He is stuck behind Derek Anderson on the Browns. His contract ended without him playing a game. He will be an RFA when I go and do the offseason.
In head coach its all about the system they end up in. Just look at some of the odd mvps, coaching and scheme matter more than actual talent. Thats why i cheat. When i see someone like english go to a team that won't use him well its wasting a player so i'll move him to rec trade for him, back to qb and trade him to a team that will use him well. I always offer last package and take the first. Try it, if the brady or manning has retried trade him to the colts or pats and he will dominate, or to a team coached by hammermill. The bottom line is half the teams in the league always suck no matter what so i try and stack the other half of the league. This way at least some of my games are challenging otherwise every game besides maybe the superbowl is a cakewalk.

Yeah I know it's about the scheme but still I was surprised by the numbers. Most of them had more picks than touchdowns. Dane Morrow, Jordan Taylor, and Darius Pryor were the ones with more TDs than Ints during their careers. Kelly James can be called a bust. The Dolphins are bad though they might be starting to turn the corner.

James played very well for me for 2 seasons in regular season and led me too the super bowl 2 times then played strangely like the guy he's based on jim kelly in the big game.anyways traded him and got pryor who led me to super bowl win and 10-1 the follow up season so far.

Is the potential of these guys locked? I just picked up Jake Scott and he has a POT of 79 but his attribute potentials are still high.

then i know its surprising to see some of the qbs preform poorly but once again this games may overstate the system and playbook. then the potentials aren't always correct. when a player leaves the team he was drafted by or his rookie contract is up they re-rate the potential and it doesn't match. i've seen quite a few players who are rated higher than their overall rating and potential rating. a good example of this is vernon davis, if your playing in the first year i think all of his stats and potential are higher or equal to greg olsen yet olsen is listed with a higher potential. this could also have to do with your gm.

Yeah I'm the coach of the Ravens in mine. He is the best QB I have ever drafted.

I drafted Dane Morrow for my Dolphins career and have basically turned him into a Troy Aikman/Bob Griese kind of QB. He hasn't put up crazy numbers or anything, but his completion percentage, passer rating, and YPA are always near the top of the league while he's near the bottom in INTs.
English ended up on the Raiders and has put up freakish stats thanks to the the spread system of Gary Hammermill. (Not sure about the name. It's one of the college coaches.) Him and Darren McFadden have become the two most dynamic offensive players in the league. English threw for 5500 yards and 45 TDs in his rookie season.
Kelly James is stuck on the Cardinals. He's been playing pretty average. The team has gone nowhere really.
