PRESEASON WEEK 2

VS

ST. PAUL, MINN

VIKS 35 (2-0) ----SKINS 3 (1-1)

The Vikings opened the game wanting get the running game going but also giving a look at rookie qb Wyoming. A. Peterson wasted no time as he broke his second carry for 54 yds and an early 7 - 0 lead. Both defenses played well over the rest of the half, but the Skins managed a late FG before the half.

The second half was all Vikings as we forced 3 tuneovers. T. Jackson took charge as the Viks poured iT on winning easly 35 - 3. However, the Viks are not happy with their 2 new free agent WR (Brown & Gordon) as neither have leaned much of the playbooks and only had 2 catchs each. Look for them to get things together and the rookie Harper is trying to gain a roster spot.

VIKINGS 42 (3-0)----BEARS 17 (1-2)

Vikings looked like midseason form as the easly drove the length of the field to open the game for an early 7-0 lead. It was again all Viks in the 2nd half, as the bears could not move the ball. Viks again drove the field behind Jackson to go up 21 - 3. The Bears wasted no time as RB T. Minor broke a long 60 yrd run to make it 21-10. The Viks seen to found them a deep threat, as Harper got behind the bears CB for a nice 58 yd TD catch. Minn again scored on a 40 yd int return for another score to make it 35-10. Viks where not done yet, as Jackson found M. Potts in the back of the endzone to make it 42-10. Re: Vikings Franchise ....a new era..(Season 2)

PRESEASON WEEK 4

VS
FOXBORO, MASS

VIKINGS 27 (3-1) ----PATRIOTS 30 (3-1)

This time it wasn't the Viks that looked midseason form, but the Patriots let by the arm of T. Brady. NE drove the length of the field while rushing only 2 times, as Brady kept finding open receivers. However, the Viks defense held, and NE had to settle for a FG on the 10 yd line. Viks first play was a fumble by WR Gordon, gave the Patriots an easy score having only go 25 yds for the TD. The Viks had to punt, and watched again as NE drove the field only to settle for a FG. Vikes finally got going as Jackson found TE Watson in the endzone for a TD. Defense forced a 3 and out, as again the Viks drove the field as time was running out to go up 14 - 13 at the half.

The second half didn't start well for the Viks, as NE returned a short punt for a TD for a quick TD. A failed 2pt conversion made in 19-14. Rookie Wyoming led the Viks for another score to go up 21-19. Each team traded FG's, before the Viks added a FG late to go up 27 - 22 just under 3:00 to play. NE was just to strong as they score the winning TD with :02 on the clock to end the scoring.

VIKINGS:

PASSING:

T. JACKSON: 11/12/202 yds/2 TD/158.3 Rating
N. WYOMING: 8/16/104 yds/1 TD/91.6 Rating

RUSHING:

A. PETERSON: 8/14 yds
C. TAYLOR: 9/34 yds

RECEIVING:

B. BERRIAN: 4/101 yds
S. MOSS: 3/51 YDS
B. WATSON: 3/33 yds/2 TD
R. BROWN: 2/33 yds/1 TD

DEFENSE:

B. RUSSELL: 5 TKS/1 TFL/1 INT
J. MITCHELL: 4 tks/2 tfl/2 Sack
A. WINFIELD: 4 tks

PATRIOTS:

PASSING:

T. BRADY: 18/23/159 yds/1 TD/109.3
K. SHELTON: 10/22/104 YDS/1 td/1 INT

RUSHING:

A. THOMAS: 4/20 yds
L. MARONY: 3/12 yds

RECEIVING:

W. WELKER: 6/86 yds
R. MOSS: 4/44 yds/1 TD

DEFENSE:

M. VARABEL: 9 tks/3 tfl/1 sack
J. MAYO: 8 tks/3 tfl/2 sack
S. CRABLE: 6 tks/1 tfl

GAME NOTES: I spent most of the 4th qtr just picking plays I could edit to get the approval rating from the owner/players. However I lost about 10-15 pts because I did not meet goals to train certain players by 48% due to them being hurt.

Re: Vikings Franchise ....a new era..(Season 2)

ST PAUL, MINN: The Vikings made the call today to start the season with the Veteran T. Jackson at QB. The ower and GM wanted to go with the Rookie Wyoming, but I think Jackson gives us the best chance to win this year. Both played very good, however, Jackson has a better understanding of the playbook.

Re: Vikings Franchise ....a new era..(Season 2)

WEEK 1

VS

SEATTLE, WASH:

VIKINGS: 16 (0-1)------SEAHAWKS: 17 (1-0)

With the Seahawks putting 8 men in the box, Jackson had no trouble driving the Viks down for a quick 7 - 0 score. But things would not be as easy the rest of the day, as the Viks lost both RB's due to injuries. The Seahawks, led by QB M. Hasselback, looked sharp tieing the game at 7. Viks could only get a FG to close out the 1st half.

The Viks get another FG late in the 3rd to go up 13-7. Viks defense played good for the most part holding the Seahawks to 3 and out. Viks again had to settle for a FG to make it 16-7. It did not las long as the Seahawks answered with a quick score to make it 16-14. Viks defense could not hold as the Seahawks drove 85 yds in 3:00, to kick the game winning FG with :02 on the clock.

Re: Vikings Franchise ....a new era..(Season 2)

ST. PAUL, MINN: The Owner of the Vikings has said the Coach is now on the Hot Seat, after their last minute lost to Seattle. Also, the Viks have now lost 4 straight dating back to last year. Also, the team is looking to deal RB A. Peterson due to his injury status. The kid is great when he gets to play, but the Viks need to have a Running Back that can stay on the field.
