So would I. But let's not give them any ideas that involve not making HC10...

I did the same thing today. This sounds like my dream game. I have played every football game since APBA Football (board game) in the early 80's. I remember getting Total Control Football in the early 90s and think that this games was so close to being the perfect sim (little did I know) and by accident about 10 years ago found FOF a few weeks before launch. It has been my main football game for years and I will continue to support it, but HC 2 has me acting like my children on Christmas Eve.

Josh you and the rest of the team are now family, so if your ever in Northwest Arkansas you guys have a place to stay.

Wow, what a roller coaster ride. After hearing about Madden I was in a foul mood all day. I hope it's ok to express how I feel now...

Re: Bill Abner's first Head Coach Impressions

I have my sunday basketball game at noon today but Head Coach is on the docket this afternoon.

As for negatives? Again, you guys know what I have seen: 1 preseason game and 1 week of preseason practices, an FA bid war, and a few trade offers (oh..and I could NOT screw the AI in the trade deal. At least when it came to trading draft picks, the Eagles were stingy.)

The stuff that annoyed me, and this is trivial really:

I couldn't keep my 2nd and 3rd string players in during the preseason game. Fatigue would set in and Braylon would be back out there in 4 WR sets. I need to sign more WRs in the preseason methinks.

I had a "Defining Moment" where the game says, "It's 3rd down you have the opposing team backed up inside its own 10. What do you do?"

It then asks if I wanted to blitz or drop back in coverage. Being me -- I sent the house. Well, the Jets gained 21 yards. Doh. Because of that nearly every player's attitude rating toward me dropped by 10 points. That seemed a bit harsh. It was a first down in a preseason game. It wasn't like I called a surprise onside or something. Maybe Josh can explain how that works and what that really means.

I'll have more thoughts later today; I want to play another game and I'm also going to start the career over and look at the Draft AI.

Oh, and making your coach is fun. You get to choose skills from this huge skill tree. It's like World of WarCraft.

My only concern is; can I set and play the game with a 360 controller. I have no doubt it works great, I just have to get past this should be a "PC" game.

Bill, first thanks for your impressions so far.

I would be really interested to know if this attitude is linked to coaching experience. If you are a rookie coach and make a bad call, I could see where veteran players would turn on you quicker than a rookie player and I could also see where rookies could be more influenced on a positive play. (They still have the college rah rah attitude.)

Also, I wonder if this attitude drop is just during the game. For instance, if your team wins, I would think all attitudes would be at least at pre-game level. (may be higher if it was an important game) If you lose the game, I could see where "in-game" attitude may be a 10-point lost (players can be very emotionally during the game) but after game (overall) attitude may be only a net loss of 5 points.

Conversely, does the coach’s attitude towards a player change during the game. If my running back fumbles twice, I would think my attitude towards him would change.

This is why I hope the game has successful sales and another version is made. The programmed variables (potential) could be endless.

Unless a major flaw is found, I'm going to support this game in hopes that more developments can be made. Josh and the other developers really seem to care and that means a lot to me.

Agree. This game just screams keyboard and mouse.

Kinda sucks to use a controller, but I'll take this excellent game any way I can.

Can we still use Keyboard? if I plug in a USB keyboard will it serve any functionality?. I am guessing probably not, if anyone can verify that would be great.

Now I have to find someone that can take Madden off my hands
