If not for the review, I would have shelved it by now. On the flip side, I'll be playing Head Coach...a lot. I think it's the best thing to happen to sports videogames in a long, long time.
After reading some of the impressions I'm really pumped to get this game tomorrow...much more so than Madden. Even if I like the gameplay in Madden I'll probably only play one season since the franchise mode will be a joke compared to this.

I am having a tough time finding this bug.

I've simmed two full seasons with the Browns, choosing a gameplan every day in practice and I've never seen it.

Was it in the regular season?

See Bill, this is retribution for you getting the game early while the rest of us regular joe's have to sit here and wait patiently - Josh clearly has coded Abner specific bugs.

Those are the worst.

Yeah, regular season. Maybe we are talking about different things?

When the Gameplan message pops up on the Clipboard to schedule a practice, I click on it and then press the LT to view the options. I see stuff like Train Player, Boost Play, Stop Player, etc.

I'm looking at the screen right now, and under Train Player I have one option: Work with QBs

Under Stop Player is says No Data

Under Boost Play it says Work on Kick Returns and Work on Fullback Running Plays. Thats it.

I have a lot of playbook knowledge options

Under Stop Play I have one option: Work on Coverage.

Now, keep in mind this is the same career with the messed up injury thing. Related somehow? Or is it acting like it should?

We just cleared this up. The way the system works, it weights gameplans that make the most sense to appear when you open the screen. Sometimes you won't see a certain type of gameplan. So if you're playing the Colts, you may see a ton of the gameplans letting you shut down an offensive player but very few that allow you to just practice one play. If you're playing the Dolphins, you'll probably work on the playbook more than you would shut down a star on their offense.

One thing I just told Bill is that if you want some different choices for gameplanning...back out of the screen, (but don't dismiss the clipboard item) open the screen back up and you'll get some different choices.

Glad we resolved that.

And as I told Bill, we are still looking for the injury bug. This thing seems really rare but we'll find it.

Josh, chris & the Dev Team:

Whoever came up with this idea of quality control should get a raise. I guess EA finally understood that they were going to lose us unless action is taken regarding their game issues.

I don't have the game yet, will have it tonight, but i have to say for the first time out of the box you guys did it right.

I was about to find a development team and try to make a football game myself. I was so tired of EA and the BS that went with it in the past, but you guys gave us hope. I actually put away $3m to start one.

Thanks guys.

josh,

alot of people seem to think it might have something to do with the teams trainer rating. I have no clue but it might be worth a looksee.

claystone,

you give me that 3m and me and 21 of my closest friends will come over and you can have a live action video game played out for you when ever you want. you cant get anymore real than that

LOL.

I actually was looking into a team. Video games is my fix. Plus it's a money maker. Look at your clients, 10 - 40+ males and younger females. The forum is my bible of information. All i needed to do was learn the industry with a good team guiding me.

Have you tried actually playing the games? Were people finding the issue when simming games or only when the injuries first occurred in a played out game?
