Sounds great. And the minute you said it reminded you of FPS Football I was already sold!

I have a feeling if I got CE I'd never play Madden. As impatient as I am I think I'm gonna just wait it out and pick this up in September.

I'm a little disappointed that EA is making us wait to boost their Madden sales. Maybe some 13yr olds will be selling the disk only on Ebay because HC is too complicated for them. I can maybe get it early that way.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Lions actually did better in real life then on the computer!

Let me rephrase - 3 years since the last Head Coach came out, and I'm sure you had the usual dev time (18 months) - or at least twice as much as Madden/NCAA.

Re: Bill Abner's first Head Coach Impressions

I have a few questions for Josh:

I loaded up my first career -- the one with the current team post Jets preseason game.

Injuries:

McGinest, Winslow, and Dorsey all got hurt in the Jets game. All are out for multiple weeks.

Is there a way to "deactivate" these players? Are there practice squad players I can bring up? If this had happened during the season, would I have to cut guys in order to fill my roster? For example, let's say I wanted to sign another OLB (or if there are practice squad players) bring one off the PS to fill McGinest's vacant spot since he's out for 2 months but I don't want to IR him. Will I have to cut a player from the active roster to make room?

Also, these hurt players are not showing up on the Health and Fitness screen. I can't find them on the Healthy, Probable, Questionable or Out lists. I can see them on the roster and depth chart screens, and I can view their health level from there but I can't see a reminder of how long they are out -- the only way I can see that they are hurt at all is by looking at their Health Status screen which shows Winslow's leg at "15%". Should they be appearing on the Health and Fitness page?

Can't wait till then. Besides, it's a good deal because if Madden gets fixed by a patch then it only cost me 30 bucks and I have it just in case it gets good.

You don't have to deactivate them in the preseason. You will be able to once the regular season starts. You'll get the screen each week before the game where you get to decide who is active or inactive. The Health and Fatigue screen (and I agree it is not clear enough) only deals with UNinjured players. That is your screen for sitting guys out of practice who are banged up (really low health or fatigue) but not injured yet. This allows you to sit guys out of practices.

As far as slots go, you would need to put a player on IR in order to open up a roster spot.

I can't wait! I think I'll play both Madden and HC. NCAA will most likely end up as trade bait even though I'm 3 years into a dynasty. HC is ALL coach mode and the CM work around in Madden where you select a WR, activate "WR Control" then switch to another player still works. Well, it works in the 09 demo.

Yeah, I tried that 2008 trick on the demo also and was surprised/happy that it still worked. Nole, I see your on the PS3 now, maybe we can get some coach mode games online with madden and headcoach. Heck, maybe we could gather a few up who play coach mode in madden with that trick and run an online league.

What do u think?

Bill updated his blog with some information about his 2nd preseason game he is playing. I have to say, your excitement for this game is killing me. I can't wait to get my hands on it next Tuesday.
