Looking at their team, they had no really glaring holes (if they resigned their own free agents).
So the CPU targeting RB's in the draft as a need makes sense.
I understand what the AI is doing but if I'm a Cowboys fan I don't like the Smith pick in the 2nd. I get Mendenhall being a nice 1-2 punch with Barber -- same with NE taking McFadden, but a 2nd round pick on another RB? Why not take one in the 5th or 6th to be the 3rd string 3rd down back? (the 4th is about as early as I'd want another one) A 2nd is a bit too high for my taste for a guy that won't see the field much. I guess everyone has different philosophies but I want my 2nd round pick to play -- a lot.

Of course again, I need to check the Dallas roster. Wasn't Barber a RFA?

Why not just wait for it to come out by itself? You save money by not buying the eventual POS that Madden will inevitably be.

You and me both brother. Madden and NCAA probably won't get much burn once I started with HC.

Lack of willpower plain and simple.

That's a good call on Barber. I guess it's possible that someone ponied up the picks and the Boys didn't match the offer. If that happened, RB's in the 1st and 2nd make more sense. Either way, I think your first draft shows that the AI is much better than anything a console game has offered up to date. I did a quick glance through past NFL drafts, and the last time I found a team that went RB in rounds 1-2 was the Chiefs in 1994. They took Greg Hill out of Texad A&M in the first and Donnell Bennett out of Miami, Fla in the 2nd. That didn't work out well for them...The Chiefs also did this in 1987, taking Paul Palmer out of Temple and Christian (The Nigerian Nightmare) Okoye out of Azusa Pacific. I know, I know -- no life.

Also, here's hoping the 7-year-olds don't sleep in the same room as the 60" TV. I don't think I would handle that well if I were you.

Maybe a Giants fan can chime on the QB in the 3rd -- perhaps the desire to get a backup is a bit too great? Just a guess. I do think that the teams are filling out rosters and not just picking at random. But I'd think a 3rd round pick -- you want him to play, right? With Eli there that seems almost like a wasted pick. But I also need to look at the roster, maybe the Giants have NO backup and Eli is one play away from watching from the sideline? I need to check that. I guess that would make more sense if this guy is groomed as Eli's primary backup.

But like I said, on the whole I had very few red flags with the draft AI. Just a few oddities ...which happens every year in the real deal.

You know what's weird? The 2 WRs that Philly took? Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly
I'm not a Giants fan but, the Patriots drafted Kevin O'Connell out of San Diego State in the 3rd round of this years draft. And I think we all can agree that Tom Brady is a little bit better than Eli Manning.
