Re: **NFL Head Coach 09 Developer Q&A Thread**

I don't know if the developer is still touching base every so often ... But here's some constructive criticism ...

1. KISS. Keep it simple sweetie. Some of the info (a lot) about players and the roster is not simple or easy to navagate. Why have a seperate screen to access different parts of the players info/stats etc. . . . Keep it simple. We don't need lots of options for the sake of it.

2. Same issue with Madden since it has been on the 360 ... Style over substance. WHY OH WHY does EA Sports feel the need to sexy up the graphics to the point where it makes the game SLOW SLOW SLOW ... the graphics make an impression for a split second ... the gameplay keeps us playing and coming back for more. After the first version of Madden on the 360 I have rented till this year ... the games been darn right narly. . . Headcoach is looking the same way ... we DONT NEED to pause for 4-5-6 seconds every time there is an emotional reaction in a game. . . we don't need to see the ref call the foul ... all it does is irritate us. I am never happy when there is a penalty during a game - even for my team - it just means 5-6 seconds of dead time. *** Please at least give us an option to switch OFF some of the graphics .... I can give a "calm" reaction without the need to see a picture of my face on the screen and wait while the 360 loads the image .... likewise I don't need (or want) to see various NFL head coaches saying "Hi - I'm Sean Payton .... my head's really small on your screen - but even so the game is going to PAUSE again for a few seconds while I pop up"

3. How about the option to set up some stuff to be done automativcally ... could we set our college scouting ahead of schedule so that if we sim we don't get random crap? Could we go into the Scouting report and check mark the players whos pro days we want to attend and also have come in for work outs? Something like that would be realistic. "Hey GM - these are the guys we want to target this year" ... bam - you've done it. We might change our minds - but give us the option. Same would apply to training ...

4. How about an option to keep players out for multiple training sessions? "how many sessions do you want this player to miss?" or "Keep this player out of training until his health or stamina are ... X%"

5. more detail on the Cap - future break downs - bonus info. The game is GREAT because you can get into cap hell if you don't plan ahead ... but give us a little more info.

Hmmmmmm - if I think of more I'll post it (whether or not it doea any good!)

i agree w/ most of this. as far as info being needed, there should be the potentials as well as the overall ratings for players when cutting or trading or w/e. that way i dont cut the player that is 55 overall but potential of 88 and keep the 66 overall w/ potential 69. as far as the graphics, i agree w/ what you say, but usually that improves w/ each game. unfortunately very few video games get that right the first time. and the things you mentioned taking out seem needless, but sometimes when you take them out, it makes it weird and emotionless. most needed is the automatic scouting cause i hate missing those but i also hate waiting around for all 25 or w/e pro days.

Re: **NFL Head Coach 09 Developer Q&A Thread**

This may be a minor question, but I'm trying to understand the draft classes, since they seem so different.

Did you give different people the ability to make different drafts? I find that the Coefield draft seems to have less overall beasts, and especially seems to have very few players with no drawbacks, whereas the Jack English track sometimes has guys with no negatives going deep into the 3rd round, and I can draft a sleeper with pretty much every pick.

Anyway, my assumption was that was caused by different people creating each class. If so, which one is your baby, Josh?

Re: Box with big "C" and stars.

Ok, some player profiles have a box with a large "C", and four stars, some colored in, some not, at the top. What does that mean?

They are team Captains. I asked Josh what the stars meant and he said they did not mean anything in the game. Other forum members have said that the stars indicate how many consecutive years they have been team captain.

Aaaah. I've been wondering what the stars meant.

Re: **NFL Head Coach 09 Developer Q&A Thread**

Are the developers still here? OK so I have a small issue with the player personnel for certain formations. Let me take the Ravens as a main example. They run both the 3-4 and the 4-3 formations but the thing that bothers me is that for the 4-3 the game doesn't use the actual personnel that Ravens use. In the game they have Suggs and Johnson at OLD with Ray Lewis as MLB and have Pryce and Ngata at DE with Gregg and Bannan at DT. In real life they move Ngata inside to DT (he is 6-4 345 lbs!!!!) and Suggs slides to LDE (taking Ngata's spot) and than Bart Scott moves to OLB taking Suggs spot. The Ravens actually come out of the 3-4 and Ray Lewis has the authority to change the formation from a 3-4 to the 4-3 on the spot (they already have the right personnel on the field). So this always sort of bothered me, knowing that when I use the 4-3 with the Ravens I don't actually have the best personnel on the field. But its not just them. For example on Passing Downs (3rd, 4th and long) the Cowboys move D-Ware to DE (the Chagers do the same with Merriman) and both the Patriots and Chargers remove Wilfork and Williams from NT on passing downs as well and put in a 4 DL look with one of their OLB usually lining up at DE.
