Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

What happened with the Pro Bowl? As losing coach of the AFC championship game shouldn't I have been the AFC Pro Bowl Coach or is the Pro Bowl not actually in the game?

Given the depth of the game, I was thinking I was going to coach the Pro Bowl game or at least be able to watch it or have some acknowledgement of my players that made it....

just wanted to know if I missed something or if this is as designed.

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

IRL: Chiefs at Patriots, Chiefs faced 4th and 1 from their own 35 in the 2nd Qtr. I will try to quote the announcer (Hall of Famer Dan Dierdorf), "Herm Edwards thought about going for it for a second, but you just can't do it. Not at this stage of the game."

This is a real reaction in a real NFL game. The defining moments absolutely needs to be changed to reflect real reactions.

PS: Comparisons to college games do not come close to teams challenging NFL defenses, especially on the road.

Defining Moments are not going to be changed.

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

i hit my first silly one yesterday....i flatly refuse to go for it on 4th and 12 frm my own 30 yard line when im up by two scores, in the 2nd quarter....the hit i took was something like 8 total approval points on the overall approval number....my GM and players had like a -25 swing....i won the game as the dolphins but i hope it doesnt hurt me in the long run as im constantly in the hot seat.... my approval went frm the mid 70s to the high 60s and after the game i was only at 71.... i should have been near 80....

i do not understand why deciding moments cannot be changed as i am not a programmer and do not work on video games....i accept that you won't fix them but i do not like it... what i do like is that problems ARE being addressed so im gonna keep doing the smart thing....i just wished the negative impact for doing the right thing were not so severe

I wish I were so lucky, I usually get 4 - 5 per game. My approval rarely goes above 50 even though the worst season I've ever had was 11-5. The worst is after losing a championship or superbowl and having a fans & media approval of 0 (zero). Absolutely no fans. It's just so unbelievable I would ignore it, except it can get you fired (and end your game). Penalized for making the safe call is bad enough, but being rewarded for making stupid calls is something that I simply do not understand. Since they're not fixing it this year, I'm just going to hope it's fixed for the next.

I had an overall approval drop of 2 points after winning the Superbowl, simply because I refused a bunch of silly defining moments during the game. Just baffling to me. At the very least, the approval penalty should be less.

Zakk.

Re: **NFL Head Coach 09 Developer Q&A Thread**

You might not have the slightest clue about this one. Don't you find it odd that over a week after release the NFL Shop website still doesn't have the game listed? I mean, the nfl.com website address is even prominently displayed in the game.

Re: **NFL Head Coach 09 Developer Q&A Thread**

I know it is designed to have the knowledge turned off for special teams(I saw somewhere Josh said so). But I am wondering why. Shouldn't a team like Chicago gain an advantage for putting an emphisis on D and Special Teams? I would like to work on my special teams in practice and try to gain an advantage over my opponent.
