Yeah, remember the dude that cut his foot when the coach had an axe and a tree stump in the locker room?

Creating players would make this impossible. Just my .02...
ahunter, are you sure you don't have a copy of the game yet?

Correct, team and player creation isn't in NFL Head Coach 09.

There is one that always made me laugh. "So-and-so has a severe headache after hitting his head on a door frame." Funny thing about it is that it would happen to a guy who was like 6'-1".

Thats a small door....

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

Josh I posted this in the Favre thread but you might not have seen it:

now that Favre has been reinstated, I assume you're going to put him in on the roster update on whatever team he's with. Will the CPU trade logic take his age and high likelihood that he will be a one and done (or two and done max) player relative to trade talks about a player on a CPU controled teaM.

I'm going to roll with the Ravens starting after the draft. Hypothetically, if were to trade for Favre, how long would it take him to learn the playbook well enough to start? I know with QBs it's a lot tougher than other positions, and while i would want to have him out there, i also recognize that coming in after camp starts would mean he would probably need at least a few weeks into the year to really learn everything. How will that work?

It would take him a little bit depending on how many plays you call. He would need to play a massive amount in the preseason and he may struggle early in the regular season.

I'm now seeing rumors that he might be on another roster tomorrow.

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

Josh, I would like to give a BIG thanks to you and the entire Head Coach team as I will be purchasing the collectors version and the standalone version to support this wonderful game.
Quick question, starting off, if I am a team such as the Texans, is there at least a chance (albeit a small one) that I could win against a team of the calibur as the Colts and Patriots. Or will I always seem to have repeats of the game between the Patriots and Dolphins posted here?

Have you ever played a game similar the one I described? Thanks again Josh!

The Texans actually have a decent amount of talent on their roster so you have a shot. it all comes down to playing the Colts or Patriots the way the teams that beat them in real life do. Put pressure on the QB and use your gameplans at key moments. You'll also need to run the ball and eat up the clock. That may be where you have the most trouble since the Texans' backs are average at best in the game. Throw the ball to Andre Johnson, create some crazy plays to keep them off balance and make some big plays. Easier said than done, but it can happen. I personally beat the Colts with the texans this year but it came down to the last second and I had help in the return game from Andre Davis.

I can tell you this...if you go into those matchups unprepared you will get smoked.

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

How often will the roster be updated and will the one you are currently working on be releaed on the 12th?

Also, are free agent contracts in this game similar to what they are in real life?

yes, I am trying to get them close.

I hope it will be ready by 8/12. I'm doing one last pass and I'm about half done. Then it needs to be tested to make sure it doesn't do anything weird once downloaded.
