Re: Gameplay Lead Programmer Q&A Session

Thanks for the answer, that's awesome. I take it that other coaches and players can become worse as well due to poor careers?

Josh or Chris, I have a uniform question. I noticed in the Giants/Cowboys game that the Giants uniforms look to have been an upgrade from 2008, did u guys get some other uniform changes in before the game was complete?

Hey josh! It appears from the two complete game videos we have seen so far, HC 09 is falling short of providing 120 plays per game. Also it seems from the two games that the cpu may be a little pass happy. I don't mean to come accross so critical, as I just about love everything you guys have done so far with the game. Well now on to my questions: are the videos posted from the final version of the game, and if so are there slidders to ajust the cpu pass/run ratio. Thanx for your time.

My two cents on this (and I don't mean to be critical either...):

By my count there were 118 plays from scrimmage in each game - I checked the stats screens after each game. That 120 plays number is simply an average - some games will have more and others will have less. It's not at all a requirement to hit that number every game - in fact, it would be suspicious if that DID happen. All that number gives is is a range to look for - as in we shouldn't see many games with more than 130, or less than 110.

Lots of things can mess with the total play count - a bad QB (more stoppages for incompletions = more plays), very active two-minute warnings (especially when the trailing team has the ball) and of course, overtime.

All in all, I'm very happy with seeing that total play count in two straight games. I believe it's the first time I've ever seen full 15 minute quarters actually work in a graphical football game. Give yourselves a pat on the back for that one guys.

All-Pro Football came close with its accel clock, but it wasn't quite there.

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

This may have been touched on before but here goes...sliders....what do we have for sliders? With all games I normally spend weeks trying to get a realistic slider set before I can actually start 'enjoying' the game...with HC will the game be realistic out of the box or will we be slider tweaking? I mean if the player ratings are the important factors why do we need sliders?

Just wondered what the sliders encompass.
Thanks

So that everyone can taylor the game to suit their own personal preference; because we all have different opinions as to what feels "right."

Re: Lead Designer Q&A Session

They have to put sliders in. That was a killer in the first version. As DLaren said, everyone has their interpretation of what is the way to play.

Will we be able to save highlights/pics and upload them to EASportsworld.com?

If not, it would be a welcomed addition to the next iteration of the game.
Didn't get a chance to add that this year.
