Smile Smitty's Sliders = Good Results!

I'm getting very good results with these sliders;

7 minute quarters
Overhead View

Changes in red

Hum/Cpu

Offense;

3/3 (Don't put it at 0, for some reason this works better. More overthrows)
50/50
3/3 (same as qb acc, for some reason this works better than 0)
60/63 (this is a must, it makes it harder to stop the elite backs)
51/51

Defense;

0/0 For Awareness (**THIS IS THE BIG CHANGE**, the defense plays much
better, they go after the ball more aggressively)
55/55 for INT (I'm using this setting from Clays, this does help)
all the rest default at 50

Special Teams;

59/59
4/4 (my kicker is now missing FG's, he has a 71 for AC)
52/52
4/4 (now the punters will shank a punt every once in awhile)
50/50

Penalties;

This setting will get you a total up to 10 penalties per game
99
99
52
52
99
99
52
51
99
99
50

Volume;

I have it set for the on the field experience
100
52
52
100
100
0
70

other notes;

- let your d. coordinator call plays, dont make adjustments either

- have the team practice defending the pass throughout the week

- I never train for offense, only defense or resting

- rest the team once per week, cancel practice

- only call offense and special teams

- it's very important to sub out guys, use the quick sub option.

One last note, Have fun with it and don't freak out if everything doesn't happen the way you'd like it to. Remember it's a video game and it's the closest thing we have to FPS: Football.

I have similar numbers for the running game. I have both the cpu and human set at 57, and the results are fairly decent. Seems like your penalties are pretty high though. How many do you get in a game?

Re: Smitty's Sim Sliders or SSS

here's some stats from a 7 minute game lastnight;

Atl (me) vs GB

score 9 - 10 (it was a defensive game, 0-0 at half)
total off 277 - 210
rush 44 - 47
pass 233 - 163
fd 17 - 9
to's 2 - 0
3rd 4/13 - 3-13
pen 2/15 - 3/25
TOP 15:42 - 12:18

ATL
B. Brohm 17/23 213 0/1
B. Quinn 3/11 40 0/0

McFadd 20 rushes for 40 yards

GB
D.Culpepper 19/25 174 0/0

R.Grant 20 rushes for 32yards

overview;

It was a very defensive battle, with alot of underneath passes and only one TD. I had to replace B.Quinn because he wasn't effective enough. I put in B.Brohm but he would only throw underneath, unlike Quinn who would throw deep alot more. Side note, Quinn would scamble if he saw an opening and Brohm would take a sack or throw underneath. I think it's great that both QB's have such a different feel to them.

With these sliders, I'm getting a very even flow to the games and if you go against a great runner he will destroy you. We played KC and L.J. went off for 272 yards, with 4 td's. It was very frustrating watching him run all over us and at the same time very rewarding that he did that against my crap defense.

Anyways, give them a shot and remember, don't call the defense just let the coordinator do that.

BTW, we are on a 3 game losing streak.. Currently sitting at 2-3..

I'm telling you, it reminding me of FPS:football and that's great..

Re: Smitty's Sim Sliders or SSS

Just out of curiosity, have you tried these with the 15 minute accelerated clock?

Also, since we are both using the Falcons, what is your OL like? Are they providing solid protection almost every passing play or are they playing poorly? My OL seems way too good, considering my players are rated in the 70s and I think one 81. I didn't give any love to the OL in the preseason.

I've tested them with the 15min quarters and found it was just alittle to much time. I'd have over 450+ yards offense and my team sux so that's not going to happen. I turned them down to 8 minutes and my offense will generate about 400 yards but I felt that was too much for my weak O.. I'm currently using 7 minutes and it feels great in game but the total O is alittle low. Try the sliders out, just remember to let your D coordinator call the plays - it just makes everything work better.

BTW, I rebuilt the Oline for the falcons. I had a chance to draft J.Long because the Phins took M.Ryan with the 1st overall pick. My line looks completely different then the default one.

Re: Smitty's Sim Sliders or SSS

Ok, thanks. I'll take a look at some of these sliders later.

I wanted to address some areas of my OL in the draft but I sort of botched it, I focused too much on the defense. My only offensive players drafter were Brohm and Martelus Bennett (TE). His learning is low, but other than that he is solid. And the low learning makes sense after watching him on Hard Knocks the past 2 weeks.

I could have addressed the OL in FA but I went crazy snagging up defense again and only Marion Barber on the offense. It is hard to not just jump on big name FAs when they pop up in the clipboard. Starting with $66 mill in cap space, I spent like a drunken sailor.

Also, kind of OT, have you noticed that Keith Brookings is a complete beast?

Yeah he is, Keith had 15 tackles against KC but we still gave up over 280 yards rushing to them.

I'm getting pretty good penalties with these setting. About around 4-5 per team, not great but good..

Re: Smitty's Sliders = Good Results!

How are the tackle for loss (TFL) stats with these sliders? In the two pre-season games I have played since I discovered this stat on defense here are the numbers with default sliders:

Game 1: 42 rushes 25 TFL
Game 2: 54 rushes 22 TFL

So that's 96 total rushes and 47 TFL which equates to 48.9% of runs resulting in negative yardage. Ouch! That does seem high so perhaps the game also counts assists for defensive players. I will keep track of this during my next game to see if these numbers are accurate.

Note: numbers above are both teams combined. TFL stat does not include sacks. To count TFL go into the box score and under defense look for "TFL." Then scroll over with the D-pad and when high-lighted click "X" to sort high to low. You have to count each players TFL - it does not give you total team numbers for this stat.
