CPU option game is not looking good:

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/125462594

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/125462557

That was just from one game, and the CPU only called like 3 or 4 option plays on me the whole game, 2 of which went right to my defender.

Also, when I tried to run an option play of my own, I got this weird play where the QB threw an abysmal pitch and the ref blew the play dead as soon as I picked up the fumble:

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

Confirmed............

EA got rid of pass block footwork, pass block strength, run block footwork, run block strength. It is now just run block, pass block and impact block.

And there is a Game Play Tuner update already. What it tuned I don't know, but I sure was prompted to download it.

playing a quick game..USC vs Miami. Just showed Miami's coach on the sideline after I scored and he's wearing a suit! Pretty cool. Sound is better once you turn it up to 100 and the commentators down, game plays smoother then the demo imo.

Already saw two of those option interceptions myself.

I'm actually pretty pleased with the game overall after a cursory glance, but hopefully the cpu option ai is something that can be addressed in a title update.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

I only see one style of dreads and it is the very long dreads and only medium skinned players seem to have that option, no dark or light person had a dread model head. Might have to do with the height and or weight of the player I guess. Also no long hair for white players either, none of them go passed the neck line at all.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

I ran it back with 8 min QTRs and am getting a very different experience, this time it is me Northwestern, hosting Ohio State. At the end of the first QTR I am up 13-0. Hit a deep ball against cover 2 zone (why they were in cover 2 on third and long concerns me only because the CPU did this a LOT in the demo) and I picked off Braxton Miller twice. I can't finish the game but saw some more things I liked in this one QTR of play.

When I get home later I am gonna bump it up to heisman and see how that plays.

Just finished my first game on default AA with 7 minute quarters.

Some quick stats

Air Force (me) / Georgia Tech (cpu)
Score 10 / 3
Total Offense 131 / 139
Rushes- Yards 31-114 / 31-84
Comp-Att-Yards 3-7-17 / 5-14-55

Overall the game was pretty fun. I love the new passings animations, also returning punts is actually fun again. I busted off a 44 yard return were I wad one man away from being taken to the house.

I wasn't too impressed with the CPU's option game. Although, they did have a nice 36 yard gain. Perhaps with a slider tweak here and there they could be a little more dangerous, but I think it's still salvageable. Also their clock management left something to be desired (although I guess it could vary from coach to coach). They were down 10 with a little over 4 minutes left and chose to go for it on 4th and 8 around my 12 yard line. I stopped them and punted the ball back to them after a 3 and out. Then with about 1:30 left in the game they had 4th and 10 on my 24 and chose to kick a FG. I guess that it's not too egregious but why not take the 3 the first time?

In closing, all I'm going to say is if you liked NCAA 12, then you will probably like 13. If you didn't you probably won't like it. For me, I actually enjoyed 12, minus a certain OD issue in which we shall not speak of. If that's out of the way, then I'm super excited to jump into dynasty mode. Especially with all of these new additions

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

just finished my first game. USC (me) beat Miami 21-0. Played on All-American. Will use Heisman this year most likely. Passing was pretty easy, Barkley went 13/14 for 106 and a TD.

I love the new pass trajectories. Here is my first TD in 13. Barkley dropped it in beautifully to Xavier Grimble.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

It's a lot better than that dreadful demo.
But it's not much better than 12.

Run game is still all or nothing.
Passing improved a bit.
Pass D a bit better, the way they knock down balls and poke it out of recivers hands.
PR Blocking...

Really? REALLY?
Still crap.

Still no PI or holding called.

AI are out their damn minds on 3rd and 4th down.
58-10,1:10 left 4th & 20...they go for it.
They've frequently called 3rd down plays that wouldn't get them the 1st.

I didn't see the option for auto naming rosters anywhere.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Impressions Thread

To everyone complaing about kick off, set it to user and CPU at 35 to kick it right at the front of the endzone, 40 for a little in it.

Also, there is plenty of holding calls in two games I have played.

Anyways, weird glitch on PS3, sometimes the playcall menu gets stuck and I have to pause and unpause to get it to unlock.

Went through setting up dynasty. Had all 35 recruits set up, advanced to week 1 and all my guys were already 70+% scouted.. with one being %100..

Hope they can patch a few things, but sliders are deff gonna be needed to fix things.
