Re: Heisman Mode: Anyone else excited?

I will side with the original poster only because there are some people who don't really research and create these players for the game themselves.

So this is a great addition by EA (even though i don't agree with their Heisman mode player ratings).

For others it's not that big of a deal because as mentioned you can get these players via Team Builder or through the Roster downloads here at OS.

The only real difference is the Player Likeness (face/Hair) as Gear and Ratings can be done by the USER himself to match what EA rates the players or use his own method to rate players.

I personally wish they would have included entire teams not just individual players so for me this mode doesn't excite me as I'd rather just create 60-80entire teams on my own and use those teams in a Dynasty mode all at the same time.

But who knows maybe this something EA is doing that will eventually lead to more old school players being added to the game or even teams possibly like NBA 2K11 and then NBA 2K12.

I'm hoping that is the case because then it might force them (EA) to put Classic uniforms and gear by into the game and it will just make creating these teams even better for guys like myself.

Re: Heisman Mode: Anyone else excited?

Not really all that excited. I don't see the fun of playing as Barry Sanders on UCLA in 2013.

Not to mention all of this could have been done previously. This mode is designed for casuals and casuals only. The reason I state that is people who actually get involved in the gaming community will usually come across mods and rosters and sliders and what have. All that is being done with this Heisman mode, could have been accomplished with around 24 man hours to generate, rate and equip all the in game players.

If they had just edited be a player mode to allow me to customize conferences and edit every schedule, it would have been better.

Re: Heisman Mode: Anyone else excited?

They should move beyond heisman winners and just make a historic players mode instead. Since it was a lot of great college players that didn't win the heisman and didn't have a great NFL career, but yet they were world class college rock stars.

Re: Heisman Mode: Anyone else excited?

The thing about this game mode is you already could have done it.

You can just create the player on a roster and do RTG by "using an existing player" like you've been able to for years. It allows you to use named rosters in RTG and allows you to rate the players however you please.
