Awarness Icons?

Whats good boys?

So this new awareness icon that lights up when a WR is clear to receive a pass has me intrigued, as gamesradar put it:

Quote:
For example, ‘awareness icons’ will be illuminated when receivers are ready for a pass based on the timing of the route, a clear help to less-experienced quarterbacks.
Since I am quite terrible at the passing game, I am actually quite excited to see this in action. Have there been any videos or screenshots showing this new addition in action? Also does anyone know if it can be switched on/off during an online game?

Finally, if the WR is not clear to receive can I still make the pass or will it not enable me to do so until this light comes on?

Thanks!

There should be a video of this feature somewhere on the EA website. You can throw a pass to the receiver as soon as he makes his break. What it comes down to is you can't throw the ball to a receiver until he is realistically prepared to catch it.

Think of it this way: if you're running a 12 yard square out on 3rd and 10, you aren't going to be looking for the ball during your 12 yard stem. Only after you break to the sideline will you turn your head looking for the ball. So in the game, only after WR# 80 has broken to the sideline will his icon light up, enabling the QB to throw the pass.

This has nothing to do with coverage though. If he is absolutely blanketed by 3 DBs, but has made his break and is expecting the ball, you can still fire it right at a corner's chest.

Re: Awarness Icons?

just an FYI even thought the icon might be dimmed out because the WR isn't expecting or looking for the ball, the QB CAN still throw the ball to him...

using the above posters 12yd out, while the WR is running up field not looking for the ball the QB COULD throw it at his back or feet i.e. avoiding taking a sack and intentional grounding AND the CB is way off so you throw a low pass at his back.

also the idea on such a route would be that you could potentially float a pass out to said WR before he makes his break and once he starts expecting the pass he will hopefully find it in the air.

Those are absolutely brilliant descriptions! Thank you guys!

You know this sound like such an obvious feature? Looking forward to seeing it in action.

I think this will be a big thing to watch as people will initally think it as an open receiver and start throwing picks lol. I think it is a great feature just going to take time, because I could see myself seeing an icon light up and just assuming they are open lol even though I know that it is just them looking for the ball.
