Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?

Hey guys, I'm new here so I thought I'd post on one of the more popular threads. I'm currently a wide Receiver for the University of North Carolina (#86, a sophomore, from Sanford, NC). We are looking forward to a great season with the new coach Larry Fedora. Even though we have the 1 year postseason ban, we are working our butts off to show the nation what the Heels are made of. If any of you guys are UNC fans or fans of college football, you can reply to me if you want to talk about the Tar Heels, football in general, or anything you like. Go Heels!

God Bless

If the gameplay was great and this game didn't have so many flaws/bugs/glitches then i'd say go ahead and add them. But there are so many things wrong with this game that the last thing i want is for them to devote time to adding something that isn't going to improve the quality of the game.
While I do understand where you're coming from, I don't quite agree. Adding FCS teams probably likely wouldn't take much away from gameplay enhancements. The biggest part of adding FCS teams would be importing/creating logos, uniforms, and fight songs (maybe mascots and a few stadiums? But we'll say no to make it a little easier for EA). That takes no people away from the gameplay team.

They could work on it post-release and put it out as a $10 DLC or something and have even less impact on the graphics team's budget and workload. Plus that way, no impact on disc space either.

The biggest issue (work wise) would probably be updating rosters every year.

60+ FBS 2nd string/ FCS starter

Obviously this is a little off because not all FBS schools are equal, but just an idea. There's no need for two ratings. They just need to stretch them a little more.
That is a solid idea. The different ratings was just a thought, but TBH, I like this a lot better. A little less messy.

And this is what I think would be most entertaining about Dynasty mode in the FCS. I can just imagine bringing an overlooked recruit into UNI and having him turn out to be an absolute beast on the FCS level. That would be so sweet, but as others have said, the gameplay does need to be shored up, and given the choice, I'd take better gameplay before FCS teams in a heartbeat.

The FIFA and NHL series have hundreds of teams from different leagues, so why can't NCAA football at least get two leagues back in the game like it used to have?

It's even more disappointing in the NCAA series because BCS teams play FCS teams during the regular season, and you're stuck playing fake created teams for those games due to the lack of FCS schools.

Personally, I wish they would go all the way down to Division III with their team selections. I would love to start with a D-III school and gradually work them up to D-I.
All the way down to D-III would be super cool, but we need to walk before we can run.

There is a huge fanbase for FCS teams and there are some legit ballers. I'm not a fan of North Carolina and never play with them and hardly play against them...does that mean they are a waste of space? Just because you don't want to play with them, doesn't mean there aren't others who do. If I could play a game with only FCS teams, I would.

Except for the 28 FCS schools that had a better record than North Carolina.

+1

But really I don't see the excuse EA Tiburon has for this not being included, doesn't make much sense to me when you compare NCAA Football to the likes of Fifa

Quick question. Were they in NCAA Football 06 for the PS2?

See ILLocano, I think we can see eye-to-eye on the fact that THIS is elitism lol. I think 99% of people that have responded to this thread don't have the view point above. Sadly this view point is more common than it should be...nobody is asking for a purely FCS game, just to have these teams added in.

And if those teams aren't very good, and haven't ever been good Mack, why did North Carolina lose to Furman in Carolina in 1999 28-3? Why did Appalachian State beat Michigan at the Big House? I can go on and on and on...FCS teams deserve respect and can beat anyone on any given day. These teams being good or not being good has nothing to do with why people don't want the teams in the game for 13. The ONLY reason people have hesitations on them adding something like this into the game this year are because of the potential time it would take away from fixing the problems with gameplay.
