Re: how long for quarters?

Played 5 min quarters for about 10 years. Switched to 6 min quarters a couple of years back. Then switched to 7 min quarters this year. Loving the 7 min quarters. It takes about an hour to play a game. I enjoy 7 min quarters the best because games feel like you have a chance to come back and on the flip side if you get a lead the cpu has a chance as well. With 5 min quarters if you got a decent lead you could virtually run out the clock. Also, 7 min quarters gives you more realistic stats imo. Give each a try. Play more than one game tho because it took me at least 3 games to get used to 7 min quarters vs 6 min.

Re: how long for quarters?

If you are looking for realistic stats either 8 or 9 is best. It gives you the correct number of plays per game and should also give you the best stats if you are not cheesing the CPU.

It depends on how fast you call plays, line up and snap for which is best.

Re: how long for quarters?

I'm running 7 minutes. I call plays, line up, and snap the ball fast though. So if you don't speed through all that, 8 minutes would be best.

Re: how long for quarters?

I play 8 min and let the play clock run down to 2 or 3 before snapping on offense. 8 min gives me the best stats it seems.

Yea this is a question that is dependent on how you play.

I play 8 minute quarters and usually snap the ball between 8-10 seconds on the play clock after reading the defense.

Re: how long for quarters?

I think it is pretty unanimous that 7-8 minute quarters provide the most accurate simulation of a real life game - 7 if you prefer a faster tempo, 8 if you prefer to play slower.

7-8 minutes give you good results. Anything shorter and I rush my possesions which leads to bad plays.

Re: how long for quarters?

6 minute quarters, slow game speed, but with a conservative tempo in the second half if I'm ahead. Otherwise, I don't touch the gameplan stuff.
