This actually goes for all downs that are very short...I just lost a game 14-10 but was stuffed 3 times in a row on the 1 yard line. First off I clearly scored a TD but you know how they will put you basically right on top of the line...Then I ran a run to up the gut and was stuffed, then a jet sweep and was stuffed, then a run up to the right and was stuffed. Absolutley unacceptable first off that I didn't get a TD in the first place and 3 stops...really?
I'd just like a good play for those short downs, last year i would QB sneak but this year QB sneak is flawed.

I normally use QB sneak if it's a yards or less. it works for me.

Sorry but its kind of like real football. Especially if you didn't mix in one pass attempt.

how often do you see goal line stands when its 2nd and goal on the 1.....very rare.

go back and watch michigan vs illinois from last week, mich had 1st and goal from the 1 and was stuffed 4 straight plays, there have been a few such stands already this season that was the most recent. I like fb dives or toss sweeps with a quick back, and 2nd or 3rd down a bootleg pass or shotgun/4wr set qb draw can be effective

If I ran twice and was stuffed, I think on 3rd down I'd run a PA rollout, but thats just me.
Oh and goalline stands happen. Maybe you should mix up your playcalling a little bit better. Give the ball to the FB, QB sneak, counter, PA pass, 4 wide to spread em out, or something.

4WR Spread and just run Speed Option with QB up the middle.

I always play with a team that has a good running QB (like LSU, Illinois) so a good running QB helps.
That being said I run a 4WR spread set and choose speed option. either direction works fine. Hot route all 4 WR's to block. Then depending on which direction your opponent run commits you'll have time to run your qb in up the middle and score. If they run commit in the middle just run the play as called and your qb or the pitch man should be able to make it in.

When im at 1st and goal from the 1 or 2, I either A.) Run it down their throat with my FB in Goal line formation but if im having trouble running during the game I use B.) On first down use Goal Line Formaton PA Rollout, it the FB for the easy Td.
