NCAA Football>Any Cinderella stories (un-expected teams) in your Offline Dynasty?

I figure'd I'd make a post for those of us who play our Offline dynasties (no simming), and have seen some cinderella stories, much like Utah of 2008, and also what your bowl/conference championship situations are looking like. I am 9-0 on the season, #2 in nation with Florida #1, but Kansas Jayhawks are #3 right behind me, and in the BCS, they are ranked ahead of me because of strength of schedule. Jayhawks must survive against a #17 ranked Texas Longhorn team coming off a big loss, and against another ranked opponent, while I face no more ranked opponents. on the contrary, I have the ACC championship game coming (if I win out), and I will have to play a #8 ranked Clemson, so that could help my BCS title push. But then again, Kansas is 1st in their division ahead of Oklahoma, so they might get a nice bid too. It will be very interesting to see how the season ends if we both win out.
Back to Cinderella stories, outside of the top 3, things are hectic, we are the only 3 unbeaten teams in the league. #4 belongs to Ohio State, #5 to Oklahoma, #6 to LSU. Toledo is ranked #7, Clemson #8, USF is #9, and WVU is rounding out the top #10 ( i know they are usually pretty tough, but its cool to see Big East having a profound presence in the polls). #13 belongs to Central Michigan (never even heard of this school) is 8-1, having a great year and are pushing for a great season, definately a cinderella story here. Boise State was up to #6 last week, but they lost to a 1-8 Wyoming team that had the biggest upset of the season thus far. But anyways, It is neat seeing teams that are usually not in the running actually break into the rankings. It adds fun and realism to the game, and giving you the feeling that any team could win at any given opporunity.
I'm in the 2017 season, and so far all the National Title games have been between normal National powers(OU, USC, OSU, FSU, etc..). 2016 season would be the only exception, as it saw West Virginia get to the NC and win it over USC. but that is not bad, WVU is still a BCS team. 2016 did see the most non-BCS teams in the top 25 though. there were 6, with Utah ending up getting left out of the NC game despite USC having 2 loses.
one of my season(forgot which off the top of my head) Ohio(not Ohio State) went undefeated 13-0 and won the MAC, but only climbed to #10 in the rankings. they beat a ranked USF in their non-BCS bowl game and ended up in the top 5 at the end of season poll.

Man that sounds pretty good. I think the same thing happened with Toledo or something along the lines of them, earlier in my season this year, it said in one of the magazines that they remain unbeaten, yet the polls are showing them no love. I really enjoy small things like that that mimics real life.

in my offline od im using Toledo but ive seen Boise, Cinnci, TCU,and a few other similar type teams move in and out of the top 5 over the first few season but they always seemed to get upset in the final few weeks and miss out on a BCS bowl birth.
on a side note

not trying to flame just inform but if you've never heard of Central Michigan you should check them out. Qb Dan Lefevour is a O'Brian award semi-finalist and 1 of the best qbs in the country not named Tebow, Bradford and McCoy. They have won 8+ games the last few years and are currently just outside the top 25 http://www.cmuchippewas.com/SportSel...99&SPSID=46371[Reply]

In the first year of my Notre Damy dynasty (shameless plug, link in sig) - there were a few Cinderellas. South Florida went undefeated, won the Fiesta Bowl, finished 13-0 and #8.
Boise went 11-2, losing to Oregon in the first week. They made a BCS bowl but lost to Florida State, who had upset Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship game.

Colorado went to the Fiesta Bowl despite their 9-4 record and being unranked after winning the Big 12 conference championship.

Year one and the national championship is between #1 Texas and #2....Maryland...
By the way, Boise St. was #3 and USC isn't even in the top 25 anymore.

USC dropping off seems to be a trend, since in the two dynasties I've played they had horrible years (for them anyway..like 3 losses) in the first season and then after 2 years started bouncing back into the top 5.
UCF has been rated top #10 multiple times in mine.

I uploaded Jacksonville State (FCS team) and played on Heisman with them. Got an at-large BCS bid first year with them, then joined the Conference USA. Went through an entire year of upsets, the only team before me that stayed at #1 for more than one week was...Maryland. They lost on a Thursday night to Miami, which set me up as the highest ranked undefeated team, because, like I said, this was a year full of crazy upsets. I finish out the last half of the year at #1, go to the C-USA title game to face Houston. Houston's 12-0 like me and #3 in the nation, so the winner goes to the national championship. I beat them in a crazy shootout 63-49, sending me to the BCS National Championship against the one and only Utah Utes. So the top 3 teams in the nation were BCS Busters, and I end up winning in double-OT against the Utes to win it all. Both teams were unranked preseason, if that gives you any upset indication. I was hoping to play someone really good like Florida or Texas, but I get Utah, a team I can beat anytime...until the 4th quarter when Heisman difficulty makes it impossible to pass or play defense.

Not sure if this counts since it was my RTG
Boise made the NC in years two and three but got beat both times, by Ohio state in year two and by Georgia (me) in year three.
