NCAA Football>Are you kidding me EA?
canes21 12:19 AM 10-06-2009
I just lost a game to the sorry excuse Josh Nesbitt and Georgia Tech because of EA's laziness. If I have my game set to aggressively strip the ball, it should not make my players that I am controlling go for a strip.

Well, it did and I just had 3 facemasks called on 3 straight 3rd downs. The last one put them in position to score and Josh Nesbitt and his robo QB completed his 11th pass out of 14 attempts for his 5th TD and 400th yard.

I have no clue what happened, but I know I played well enough that I kept up with his robo QB abilities to take the game down to the last second.

But why does EA make it to where I am going for a tackle and just run into the ball carrier, but my guy goes for a strip tackles and yanks the facemask. Why EA? Why, 3 straight ****ing times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even after I put it on conservative!!!

I can't believe that just lost me my game.

They tried something new to give you more control over your other players. Turns out lol, it affects you also....when I play i just keep everything on normal. I really just don't like that feature at all. [Reply]

1. Says who?
2. Someone else could start a whine thread saying the exact opposite. Think about it.

You didn't take the hint after the first two?

Read the pros and cons of each area of the gameplan. It tells you if you have strip set to aggressive that there will be more facemask penalties called. Its there in plain daylight. Don't blame EA for something you can't understand. [Reply]

Agreed with the posters above. Its High Risk/High Reward. [Reply]

I am not an advocate of run commit except in a few real life cases:

-Any 3rd or 4th and short (1 yard or less)
-Any goal line play from inside of the 2
-When playing VS any "run first team" (i.e GT, AF, NAVY)

Its another one of those high risk high reward things. If you commit the wrong way its a big play 8/10. I have been burnt deep and gashed to the opposite side of the committing D plenty of times.

At any rate, I do not run commit just to do it. I only do it in situations that I think a real coach would. And I only do it because I know it does not always work. Especially with our sliders.

Its even worse when playing someone who has everything set to aggressive. They may commit 8 facemask penalties but after each penalty if they force a fumble and you lose possession, how is that high risk for them? This is a cool idea to add but it is way over-done. There are still way too many fumbles and TO's. EA has done ZERO research on how many turnovers happen per game on average. It's pathetic. [Reply]
