recruiting ?

I have a guy on my list that has no offers except for mine and he has no interest in me at all. He is a 3* WR and I have recruited him hard for 6 weeks and nothing. Is there anyway to get a guy like that interested or is it just the way it goes sometimes? Thanks in advance.

Re: recruiting ?

In last years game I had a guy like this that ended up not signing during the season, and I was 9th on his list. He had narrowed it down to his top 5 and I was still 9th. But come off-season he liked my school 2nd and another 1st. He ended up signing with the other school. Just keep going after him and hope that he gets no offers and will sign with you.

Re: recruiting ?

Ok thanks jbrew. I was just wondering if anyone had any expirience with this and if any particular method would help.

I had the same issue last year with a DE and he never gave me the time of day even in the off season when I gave him promises and the whole 9 yards. I guess some guys just don't want to go some places period. lol

I use Ohio State so it's not that it's a real low ranked team. Anyways thanks.

Re: recruiting ?

I feel your pain, in a od this year on NCAA 10 there was a 5* Tackle that was a pure beast and left untouched for 5 weeks and I was the only one talking to him but he wouldn't give me any interest.

Re: recruiting ?

you guys have to try and invite him to either games against rivals, or a game where you're playing against another school is interested in...I've found this gains you considerable interest from a player..

ex..i play with Air Force, so if he is interested in me, i will invite him to a home game against Utah or someone he is interested in...now if he shares no interest in other schools in your conference, it comes down to the roll of the dice until your program is one of the elite ones in the country...hope this helps

Re: recruiting ?

I never even get on his list so he is never ready for a visit. It's going into the 8th week and he has no visits planned and no schollys but mine. I wonder if it's one of those he isn't gonna qualify deals like they had before and he ends up not signing anywhere.

He's the 32nd ranked WR so it's not that big of a deal, but, he has the fasted forty of this years recruits at 4.32 so I would have liked to see how he came out.

ahhh...gotcha...well then yea, your program just might be that appealing to him...also, how many games have you won in a row? This also helps b/c you become a small blip on his radar...and the more televised games you have, that also helps

Re: recruiting ?

Yeah, it happens sometimes.
Usually with guys like that, if you stick with it, you will eventually get on their list by the offseason.
If he still doesn't get an offer from other schools, and you can spare a few minutes per week, it wouldn't hurt to quick call him for 10 minutes every week to try to get him at the end.
But if you've offered a guy a scholarship and done a bunch of hard selling and he's still interested, you don't want to keep spending a lot of minutes on him.

Re: recruiting ?

I have had better success with recruits like this when i call them myself. If you have enough phone time, try to make the green bar on the left that says "Today's Call" all the way up. If you do that for a few weeks, and he still has no other offers, just leave him on your board and dont call him. Wait until the offseason where you can use your promises etc.
