Chew clock online HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!

I just had the most infuriating game of video game football I've ever had with an Ohio State cheeser who not only scrambled around forever with Terrell Pryor, but also added what I now call the Chew Clock Cheese into his repertoire.

It REALLY pissed me off because he got up 14-0 with cheese tactics before I got a lucky break on a fumble recovery and interception to tie it up at 14-all...felt like I was back in it, then he starts running his usual cheese offense, runs the play clock down to one every time AND has chew clock on taking off about 10 seconds each snap. Really killed me at the end of the first half and end of the game when I kept it close and needed to get the ball back and he just ran the clock down with this crap. I try to keep cool when playing video game football but this game really sent me through the roof. I didn't even realize chew clock was an option on the playcall screen until this but I figure once a lot of people notice it, it's going to become very abused.

I realize you can return the favor to the person doing it, but then the game just becomes ridiculous and no fun.

That is not a cheese tactic. Chew clock is a great feature and i wish the cpu would use it all game so it would be like acc clock

but the issue here is how he played the game.

Trust me i have played people in the past that once they took the lead. they ran the play clock down to 1 before snapping.

At first i would get mad but then i got over it because i knew that it was up to me to stop them

Now if the guy is doing some wr direct snap or fb dive all game long and running the clock down..then i get real upset

that is why i dont play online anymore...only vs friends list members that i know will play real

but chew clock on or off he can run it down to 1 with it on or off so that is not the issue

if he played straight up then his chew clock would not be an issue since it would be up to you to stop him and get the ball back

is his play style that is the issue here....

Chew clock doesn't take any more time off the clock than just waiting to snap it, does it?

Re: Chew clock online HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!

I love the chew clock feature and it is great for against the computer or to play a longer game. I think it is semi cheesey in an online ranked game. My thoughts are that 5 min quarters are already too short. If you get down my more than a possession early you pretty much have to abandon your whole game plan and go in comeback mode. My thoughts have always been that you call the play and get he snap off as quickly as possible except in the last 2 minutes of the game and 1 minute of the half. Still they guy could run the clock down the same regardless, this just makes it easier. Still it is nice to have online in case of blowouts etc. You have to realize in the lobby or quick play it is jungle rules and not everyone has the same mindset a lot of people on here do.

The chew clock is just another step to make the game more realistic in my opinion.

Re: Chew clock online HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!

CHew clock does not make the game more realistic. If you are too lazy to run the time off the clock yourself you should not be playing the game. At least as far as online goes.

It is cheesy as heck to have some dude jump up by 14 online then chew clock the entire game without it taking any of his own skill etc. Then you score enough to make it a close game anyway but time runs out.

Did it take any skill on his part? HECK NO
Could he do it manually without being lazy? HECK YES
Does it ruin online gameplay? In certain cases yes.

How would i Fix it
1. Make the quarters 8 minutes instead of 5.
or
2. Disable the feature in online games
