After playing 25+ games online in "Season Showdown"...

I did an online game marathon this weekend playing against all-comers in the NCAA Football 10 "Season Showdown" mode.

I play using my alma-mater (Texas A&M)

I must be a glutton for punishment because just about everyone I play uses a ranked team like Florida or Ohio State and Im loyal and using A&M...

That is why I have only won 4 games!!! haha

Anyway.....


The online play is really fun. I had lag problems early on, but I figured out that it was my wireless and switched over to using a wire.

The Season Showdown mode is REALLY cool and tracks your points for having skills and sportmanship among other things....

I would like to play with Florida every time since I'm a Gator fan, but if I saw some dude come out with the Aggies, I wouldn't be UF.

I like to match up with my opponent and get a good game.

I'm going to play with my favorite team (Vanderbilt) online this year. I tried to play with them last year but it wasnt even close... One guy played me with Ohio State and put his backups in and still was up by 5 TD's at halftime.. VU was so slow so I stopped playing with them.. NOT THIS YEAR. I will play with VU no matter how bad I get beat and no matter how bad EA makes them... and EA will make them bad, and the defense (which was #30 in the country last year and has 9 starters back) will again be S-L-O-W. I'll look you up and we'll play VU vs A&M

Just curious if the guys you played cheesed less because of the sporstmanship and stuff, or if they cheesed just about the same as regular lobby random games.

Yeah, I feel bad for some of you who use average teams online. I use Ohio State since they are my school, but I always do feel guilty about using them online...

This reminds me more of College Hoops 2k8 when I would always use Ohio State who I believe wasn't even ranked, and having to go against Kentucky, Tennessee, Duke, UNC, etc. It was always annoying playing the same elite teams over and over again, but at least it presents a challenge...

Funny season showdown was down for most of the weekend on Ps3 fri was the only time I got to use it was fri.

Got the game Friday for PS3 and Season Showdown has been down everytime I've played the game.

I like that you're OSU so I get more gratification when I pound you (and you're 125,000 cohorts in the lobby) with WVU.

Out of the 25+ games I played there were only 2 or 3 guys that would cheese. By that, I mean go for it on 4th down almost all the time.

Alot of guys picked teams that had QBs with alot of speed. This lets them roll out a bunch and toss it down field. The good news is that you can call a defense that can slow down that kind of play.
