Also, last year's National Championship game, Florida had 2 sacks, OU had 0. So keep in mind that it could just be the teams that are in the demo. If you're OU playing Western Kentucky, perhaps you wouldnt notice a pass rush problem (those that complain of one).
Pressure isn't just about getting sacks. When I played the demo as OU, I just felt like my line wasn't even getting close to Tebow.

Why is everyone freaking out? Isnt in the patched sliders you can adjust cpu O-line blocking and user D-line pressure and things like that?..

^^^And how effective were the sliders last year when it came to upping the pass rush? Are we suppose to believe that the sliders when patched this year are going to be any different when they can't even give us sliders out of the box that aren't broke for the second straight year. Don't hold your breath is my point.

Pass rush is not about sacks. You can get great pressure on a QB all game and realistically get no sacks. We have seen actual game footage of Florida vs. A cupcake team and there still wasnt any consistence pressure.

This is a serious question: How does one become a game tester for EA? I've been gaming since the 70's and I feel I would be very good at it. Also if this is a paid position I would test Football and Racing games for free.

The position is in Orlando and they have a recruiting period. During that period (see the website, www.tiburon.com), apply as you would any other job. The position doesn't pay great, but a lot of people on the design teams are evidence that there's upward potential. I've considered applying myself, but the idea of playing Madden or NCAA for 8 hours a day every day isn't appealing to me, no matter how clinical the setting (or even how good the game is).

Imagine if EA/Tiburon could send a beta version of their game to link up and download from this site? We could test the game for them and send feedback. Hey, it will never happen but we can dream can't we???

Re: Open question~ PATCH PHILOSOPHY

I don't think some of ya'll understand just how burdensome real "testing" is. I've worked QA before (not gaming, but still with software) and it is incredibly boring. You repeatedly do things over and over, you don't just sit down and have fun for 8 hours. You would NEVER want to do it for free, no way in the world. Some of you are like "How can you miss SLIDERS and pass rush OMGZ!!!1", but a tester's first priority is not making the game work the way some hardcore gamers feel it should. Their first priority is to make sure the game doesn't crash and burn whenever the user does something. Could you imagine if while checking to make sure the sliders were as effective as they should be, a tester missed the fact that whenever you pump fake twice and then throw deep, the game crashed (Just simply a random made up example)? The tester is looking for actual game breakers as first priority, not things some people feel are "game breakers" for them.

On the pass rush issue, I think it should be a little more aggressive outright, but it's not. But put it on aggressive and it's just right IMO. The CPU rarely has more than 4, maybe 5 seconds to throw. The annoying part for me is that the CPU usually gets rid of the ball VERY quickly, which makes it hard to really get a lot of hurries. But that doesn't bother me as much cause oftentimes these are incomplete passes cause he rushed the throw. But pass rush isn't completely "broken" like some are saying. It just doesn't work the way we anticipated, meaning, on "Normal" it is not aggressive enough IMO. Put that joint on "Aggressive" and it works pretty well for me. I haven't once had a QB do a 9 for 10 passing type level even before I did that tweak. I wonder about what you're doing on defense as far as defensive calls if that's happening to you.

I'm not even sure HOW we would do that. We don't have the ability to create game builds that can be played on a retail kit.

Yeah, I figured as much but who knows, maybe oneday that type of technology will be readily available.
