No formation subs but wow we have season showdown

This is so seriously lame, I can't even fathom that EA is even trying to make a real football anymore. This new game has almost none of the features that I or the majority of the community wanted. WHY?

I figure it's because they're trying to appeal to folks outside the hardcore community. Season Showdown is a big glossy feature that they can advertise as something brand new that is easy for newbies to understand, where alot of outsiders may not know or care about formation subs. They need a big, flashy product to advertise to casuals, and Season Showdown is it.

Agree 100% with you. I wasn't agreeing with them, I was just analyzing their motivations.

For the most part I agree, but I do like the addition of teambuilder.

I like teambuilder as well but I probably wont use it as much as some, but I think it is a good addition.

The thing that blows my mind is that Season Showdown doesn't actually ADD anything to the game. All it does is basic arithmetic and add up various things to give you an arbitrary score at the end that is added to your school of choice.

Why was the "great idea" this year (outside of Teambuilder, but I don't really care for CAS) not centered around gameplay, but a math game BASED on the gameplay?
