Hit Stick and Pass/Run Commit

Although Im not new to this game, I've never used these features in all the years that I've been playing. For one, I think this is my first time avidly playing online. Pass Commit and Run Commit could really help me and I just cant seem to get the hit stick right. Do You flick the right stick up or do you push it down? or is it a combination of both?

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Hit Stick and Pass/Run Commit

You'll find yourself using the hit stick less and less unless you're a prodigy at timing and angles.

Unfortunately (and maybe even fortunately) a lot of people aren't.

So it would be best advised if you don't make a habit out of using the hit stick religiously (it's a habit hard to break) and simply go in for the clean tackles with the 'x' button.

Re: Hit Stick and Pass/Run Commit

I only ever use the hit stick if Im a linebacker and a running back is coming at me in the middle of the line and I am sure that there is another defender to back me up if by chance I miss the hit stick. Most of the time it is better just to use X.

I manage to get a little too zealous and end up clipping the ball carrier's legs and they spurt out of the backfield and pick up big yards.

This usually only happens on toss plays.

It's like you have to have that perfect angle to make sure you hit them properly or you'll perform the crappy animation of tripping over yourself.

Re: Hit Stick and Pass/Run Commit

I never try to hit stick a running back running to the outside of the line, its too hard to find the right angle. Only on a run to the interior of the line.

oh my bad (silly me not actually reading what the thread is about) you need to push either up or down on the right analog stick RIGHT before you make contact with the ballcarrier. Just like the highlight stick or lead blocking.

Re: Hit Stick and Pass/Run Commit

I have just started getting good with the hit stick...but boy if you try it to early that man will blow by you for a huge gain!
out in the open field it's so hard to do it but if you can get it you can jar the ball loose!

Anybody got anything on Run/Pass Commit? still trying to figure out how to do this, I know I've done it before because all of my players circled up. but I cant get it to happen against on purpose.

Re: Hit Stick and Pass/Run Commit

just practice and work on your timing when making the hit, eventually you will become a seasoned pro with the hit stick.
