Promises to recruits

What determines "solid playing time" to a recruit? Also, what are the consequences of not fulfilling a particular promise?

Don't know what about the first one. I would guess about 40% of the snaps. As for not fulfilling a promise. Your integrity goes down, which means the promises you make in the future are less effective, some kids may just outright transfer if they are "lied" to.

Re: Promises to recruits

I offered a guy solid playing time, and he was the starting QB from day 1. He through for 30 touchdowns but wanted to transfer because of a broken promise. I just don't understand the logic behind that.

Wow, that has to be some kind of bug. I am into my second season so I haven't been able to see what my recruits will do after the season.

Just to add, I had the same thing happen to me. Promised this freshman phenom WR solid playing time and no redshirt, and even though he started every game at WR and on KOR, he still left because of a broken promise.

Re: Promises to recruits

Solid Playing Time is glitched. It never works. Had two freshman all-americans (who started every game for me) transfer because of that. I just promise winning record against rivals if I've got 3 or more. Also, you can promise good National Exposure if you schedule a bunch of heavyweights.

Re: Promises to recruits

The promises has been buggy since implemented a while back and I don't think EA has any interest in fixing it. I simply house rule it out all together since it doesn't track them having to take the OD offline every year to keep players from leaving anyways.

I wonder what the vegas odds of 2010 game having all of its options actually working the way they were intended? Less then 15%?

How many pages is your book of house rules? You seem to have one for everything!

Re: Promises to recruits

First time I ever used playing time was in 08 on PS2. Kid got hurt for the rest of the season in the fifth or sixth game. Come the end of the season, I learned that I had broken my promise. Guess it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't broken his body, but that's an argument you can't make in the game.

Needless to say, I've never promised playing time again.
