Promises to recruits

I would like to see promises reworked a bit. Instead of playing time which is broken make them more interesting. ex. In the Clemson/Alabama game Tommy Bowden promised the first carry of the season to a player (I forgot the name.) he kept his promise and the kid fumbled the ball. You could also use the #1 Jersey at Michigan. Things like that. Obviously no redshirting is a good one. I mean coaches will promise a kid just about the world in recruiting. It should be more like that in NCAA.

Edit: It was Jamie Harper he promised that carry to and he did the same thing for James Davis and CJ Spiller.

Holy Crap! I just recruited a Punter and Kicker and promised them solid playing time. Of course, they are the only ones I have, so they are doing all of the kicking details. So far my Kicker is 11/12 on FGs and my Punter has 8 punts, but handles all my kickoffs as well. I hope they don't transfer because of the glitch.

Yeah solid playing time seems to be broken. There seems to be no definition of "solid playing time". I offered this HB solid playing time for season 2 in my OD and he split time with my senior HB, and actually ended up playing more cause my senior HB was hurt for like 6-7 weeks throughout the season. Well the recruit ended up transferring(to my rival no less).

But i had other guys i promised solid playing time to, stay cause they played a lot as well. Like my FS, he started all season #1 on the depth chart and going into his SO year he was an AA candidate.

I will ONLY promise solid playing time if I have every intention of starting them from day one, and so far I have not had too much of an issue.
