I GOT A SIIIIIICK RUNNING BACK... & I HAVE VIDEO PROOF!

Basically the story is I didn't get many recruits last offseason but I landed 4 backs that were 4* or better. I moved 1 to FB, redshirted the 6'1 240 lb-er with 93 Speed & 96 Agility (84 OVR), put the 97 SPD back at returner & started the 86 OVR back (#8, Eddie Ward, 6'1 221 lb) over my 88 OVR 6'4 181 lb Sophomore RB.

Before I tell you about Ward, let me just say the 97 SPD back's 1st touch ever was on a missed field goal & the vid of him taking that back for a touchdown is on my EASportsWorld Account. (link below)

1 more thing to know, we were more of a passing team last year. RARELY EVER ran the ball as the main option in the offense.

... ok. I made up my mind before the season started to make my 97 OVR Junior reciever (Heisman Winner) & 97 OVR Junior QB (Heisman Runner-Up) the 2nd option in th eoffense this year. I figured since I'd landed all these RBs I'll rush for atleast 2,000 with my main RB & 2,500 as a team. Now, I'd never ran a single play with any of my new RBs. The 6'4 Sophomore (88 OVR) was very jenky & slow his Freshman year (92 SPD), though he did manage a few big plays, SO I was REALLY going to have a long year if my enitre backfield played like that. lol

BUT, as I'd anticipated the Freshman Ward stepped in from his 1st carry made me forget the horrors of having a 5'10 205 RB & 6'4 179 last year. The short 1 was fast but his power got no respect & the tall 1 was slow & the CPU's tackling is 100 so I don't know what tackles he MIGHT'VE broke... lmao. *shrug*

We played #2 Ohio State at their place to open the season... thought that'd be hard huh? HA! Yeah, right. Here are his numbers:

Eddie Ward
23 car - 144 yds - 3 TDs
4 rec - 91 yds - 1 TD

^^ & THAT'S WITHOUT A 70+ YD TD RUN (OFF TACKLE BUT NOT OUTSIDE) THE CPU TOOK AWAY ON A BOGUS HOLDING CALL!!!

*The big play where he runs into the line, stays on his feet, avodis tacklers & breaks arm tackles then COMPLETELY THROWS OSU's FS out of his way, THEN outruns the rest of the D to the endzone is on my EASW page along with the miss FG return for a TD & Ward's touchdown reception where he jukes the HELL out of a Safety (I think), then sets up another DB inside & spins out to once again outrun the D for the TD.

**Remember nearly all the defensive CPU sliders are ALL THE WAY UP. 100.

I saw this kid as another Percy Harvin, in fact I use Florida's playbook to get him all over the field. He is a beast catching passes but I try to not abuse that too much seeing as no LB can keep up with him. The funny thing is even though he was a 5* RB, I was the only team who offered him a scholarship. I brought him in as a change of pace back to the best RB recruit I had ever landed (came in an 89 overall), but after 2 years I let the stud go to the NFL and it was the Darrell Vaughn show. He has 3 games left in his career, I am going to miss him. I have a back with 96 speed on the bench who can do some of the same things Vaughn can, but it won't be the same.

Re: Best Recruit Ever!

This isn't 100% on topic, but in my last off season I recruited a 5 star RB and a 4 star one. They both signed with me and the 5 star turned out to be rated a 78, while the 4 star was rated a 79.

I love how lower caliber players can sort of be sleepers in this game. It adds a lot of excitement to recruiting.

That's how I would've used him. Get him the ball in space. Period. Somebody doesn't like it... then they should guard him.

Yeah. If you look at the letter ratings carefully you can discern who the best players are though.

Re: Best Recruit Ever!

I grew tired of not being abke to see what my Freshman back could really do so I lowered the CPU tackling & block breaking to 60 & he EXPLODED. 550 yds in 2 games since then. He can get through the line of scrimage & to the endzone better than any back I've recruited on any version of this game thus far. He played like a Knowshaun Moreno wih speed. Though his STF is a 57, I've put more than a few people to the ground with is so... he's just a beast.

As of this point he owns every record he can. He broke Ron Dayne's rushing record, he broke Travis Prentice's TD record. He has the record for most yards in a game and most TDs in a season. The only record he doesn't have is Barry Sanders' season record for rushing yards. He just won the Heisman his senior year and would have won it his junior year if not for that injury bug in the game.

Re: Best Recruit Ever!

I recruiting a 2-star punter who was 6-3, 244. He has 85 speed. I gave him #55 just in case. Return men better watch out.

Sick. That would be my most valuable recruit.

NIIICE. & can you elaborate on the injury bug? Cause I've noticed only my great players get hurt & only when their playing well.
