Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**
Roy38's Wishes for '10:
Creation:
1. Custom Playbooks - Allow the user to create their own playbook from all available formations and plays. If there needs to be a specific cap on the number of formations and plays available, that's fine but give us the option to choose what formations and plays we want in our teams playbook.
2. Expanded Playbooks - Allow the user to select which plays to use within their own playbook. Allow all plays within a given formation to be available and let the user decide which plays to include in their playbook.
3(a). Create-A-Team - Bring it back already! While you're at it, expand on it from previous editions. Incorporate more logos, more color options, more uniform options and styles, which leads me to...
3(b). Custom "Pride" Stickers - I understand if universities don't want us to deviate from their official school standards and traditions, but allow Create-A-Team users the option to create their own stickers rather than use someone else's. We don't have to design them ourselves (although that would be a cool feature), but have a set list like logos from Create-A-Team to use.
3(c). Custom Stadium Editor - Again, I understand if universities don't want us to alter their current stadium set-ups, but allow Create-A-Team users to develop their own stadium using a stadium editor. This feature could be used like in the Tony Hawk series where you could create your own skate park. Let us decide where everything in the stadium goes rather than give generic, cookie-cutter stadiums to use. If we're pigeon-holed into having generic stadiums, at least give us more options to use.
3(d). Custom Mascots - Allow Create-A-Team users to create their own mascot as opposed to having to use a current team's mascot. It can be as elaborate as player creation (which would be cool), but could be done much like the logo feature in Create-A-Team. Have several generic mascots pre-made to chose from to use.
4. Custom Stadium Sounds - A great feature in '09, but let's expand on it. Allow us to create playlists for each event and then have the sounds executed randomly. While I enjoy hearing a particular song when scoring a touchdown or sacking the QB, some diversity would be nice.
Gameplay:
1. Formation Specific Subs - Bring it back already! Give us the option to substitute players at different positions based on formations outside of in-game. The current set-up is more confusing and doesn't allow for much time to make substitutions because of the play call clock.
2. Improved Passing Controls - Allow passing to be more indicative of field position. If I'm going into the red-zone, I should still be able to call deep passing plays to the back of the endzone and have the QB use more touch to drop these passes in. Often times these routes are pointless because they are all thrown out of the back of the endzone.
3. Player Attributes - Allow players to "play" to their given attribute levels. Make each attribute important and noticeable for each given player. Power HB's should be slower and stronger, but harder to take down than a Speed HB. Speed HB's should be faster and more elusive, but easier to tackle. You get the point. By having the players "play" to their given levels, most other issues can be addressed by fixing this. Blocking can be better against the run or pass (or worse), Pass rushing/run defense can be better (or worse), Coverage can be better against all routes (or worse), etc. It all depends on the player and their ratings.
4. Roster Sizes & Limitations- Increase overall roster sizes from 70 to 85. It's that way in real life so, "If it's in the game, then it's in the game". Also, allow us to choose what roster limitations should be. If I'm running a spread passing offense, I have little use for a FB in my system so don't make me recruit one. He's only taking up a roster spot for a TE or WR that I actually need.
5. Play-Action & Play-Fakes - Allow these plays to work as intended. These plays are designed to slow down the defense as they must first read then react. Again, player attributes tie into this. Less awareness or play recognition means more potential for bigger plays which I think is the true definition of "Wide Open Gameplay".
6. Bigger Celebrations - Bring it back already! Let me chose to showboat or taunt an opponent after a touchdown, field goal, sack, interception, big play, etc., but have the officials enforce the rules and penalize me for it.
7. Expanded, Working Sliders - Expand sliders to control each individual attribute of the players. If we don't like how the game is playing directly out of the box, let us tune it to our specifications.
8. Division 1-AA - Bring it back already!
Dynasty Mode:
1. Player Training - Bring it back already! During the off-season, include the ability to train your players, by position, to your specifications. It doesn't have to be a mini-game (as that would be even more time consuming), but it doesn't have to be elaborate either.
2. Coach Legend Mode - A game mode I thought could be entertaining would be to have a coaching career mode. You could set it up in a similar fashion as Campus Legend. You would start off as a high school head football coach in control of offense and defense. At the conclusion of your first season, you would get the opportunity to coach at several small colleges as an offensive or defensive coordinator. You would only control offense or defense until additional job opportunities open up. Maybe you'll get a head coaching job right away for a small college, or maybe you'll get a promotion at a larger school as offensive or defensive coordinator - it's really whatever you want to do. You could decide you want to stay at a small program and build it into a powerhouse or you could choose to wait for a big time program to come calling. Dynasty mode with a coaching twist.
