1. It is too risky
2. There was concern of an overpowered defense if pass rush was adjusted due to the other defensive gameplay improvements in the patch.

Yeah, I really don't understand that. So you're saying that realistic pass rush, and realistic zone + man coverage would overpower the defense?

Thanks for the info and the clarification.

Rhombic, I think you're twisting what he is saying. Remember there is a limit on the size of the patches and it is possible they can't include all the code necessary to tweak the pass rush appropriately.

I'm not happy with it but if there's nothing you can do...

How do patches work?
Help me understand this.
For the 360, you need the game and sign on to xbox live... obviously.
But does the patch save to your hard drive, or can it be saved to your memory card? Is it listed when you go on to your dashboard to the memory section?
Does it only save to your xbox live profile? Or can you save it to another user's profile on the same xbox?

Okay, let me just straighten this out in my mind...

1. Underneath zone coverage was tweaked and will be improved.
2. Pass rush issues were not tweaked.
3. Sliders will still work if we can find some that help the pass rush once that's been patched.

Am I right? If this is the case, I'll be happy. Zone coverages can't really be slider fixed as they're kind of a logic issue, but the pass rush issue can be mitigated with sliders.

If we get better man coverage and zone coverage, I can live with leaving pass rush how it is. Right now I hate when you have a receiver man on man with defender doing a in route across middle and he magically pulls away everytime for the completion. Is this one of the things fixed with better man coverage?

I don't think patch size is the issue. I think he's saying that they didn't want to tweak the pass rush because they felt like it would hurt the "wide open gameplay" aspect.

The fact is that the pass rush functions much better on Madden (although still not perfect), so saying that it's "too risky" to correct is absurd.

Sean referenced the conference call, and on that call we asked why they couldn't just make the NCAA pass rush like the Madden pass rush, and he basically said that he was worried about correcting the pass rush because he thought it would hurt the "wide open gameplay" aspect. What a joke.

Damn... didn't know about the conference call.

Disappointing I guess. I don't know what to believe. I don't know the specifics for the code... with all the other things that need fixing in patch 2, it is possible it couldn't fit...

Who knows. At least we have a definitive answer... and for some, that is something.
