Re: Patch 1 and 2 Info & Discussion

one more question Craig, when we select playlists for certain events, can we get multiple songs on one playlist and have them played throughout the game (example, home timeout #1: song A. home timeout #2: song B), instead of hearing the same song every timeout?

Couple questions.
1) On Stadium Sounds, to reiterate what AA asked, if i play as FSU, obviously i can hear my sounds at Doak, but if i set up sounds for UF, will i be able to hear them when i play at the Swamp?

2) How were hook zones tweaked? Players just dotn drop as deep?

3) How were WR screens fixed?

4) So no more ghost juking? (players running out of bounds for no reason)

5) Do kickoffs include punts (punt coverage fixed?)

6) The slider issue....so it is fixed so that HUm sliders control HUM and CPU controls CPU, right? Also, what about the effectiveness, can you have someone try what fistofrage suggested. Turn Pass Block to 0 and see how it works vs being at 100? Id like to see the degree of difference.

If that (sliders) are fixed and work right, that will fix the only thing not addressed here, the pass rush.....

Thanks again Adam

Are we gonna get an answer? Or is the silence on these subjects our answer?

I'm the same way - I have INternet but it's restricted bandwidth so if the download is significantly over say 500MB or so I'd have to download it at work, burn onto a CD and set up some proxy thingy to get it onto my PS3.

Well for me, I want to use named rosters in my dynasty and I can't have named rosters until the first patch.

Re: Patch 1 and 2 Info & Discussion

So will zone coverage only addressed in the patch because the man coverage has problems that need to be fixed to. Two things that I see all the time would be on comeback routes cb's stand there while the wrs sits open for multiple seconds and doesn't react until the ball is thrown. Also sometimes when a lb is matched up with a rb and the cb is matched up with the wr they will flip flop there assignments mid play resulting in either the rb or wr being wide open. These two things for sure need to be looked at and patched also. I could live with the toned down pass rush if man coverage was better.

So, anyone have a firm date for the 1st patch, yet? I'm getting sick off this bull****, ie "It'll be out in a week or so". Would really like to be able to edit my rosters. It will keep me busy until I can actually sack the quarterback.

That's what's called banjo coverage and occurs if two eligible recievers cross near each other on a play. It actually is a pretty standard defensive way of combating the ever more popular "mesh" and crossing concepts. In fact, the first I saw it I said "Wow, they got that right instead of having the defenders run into each other or pick each other while trying to chase their initial man."

Think of it as the same as if out of a Pro set the TE dragged and the rb flared to the TE side. The two LB's in man would switch coverage on the players instead of fighting thru one another. It actually puts your defense in a better position to handle the route than if the just locked on their guys.

Also, playing man against a team that runs a lot of crossers is a death sentence for a defense in general. Switch in some zone (specifically cover 2 as it puts 5 defenders underneath) to better handle crossers.

Not 100% sure what you mean here, because we should have the same number of mascots that we did last year. If you mean in comparison to how many we have on PS2, we didn't "remove" any mascots, we just haven't "recreated much higher quaility models with much higher res textures" for some of them. Adam would know better than I would if we are planning to add more this year.

I'll tell you right now you would destroy me. You guys are all complaining about it being too easy to run a kick back for a TD, I'm still trying to figure out how to return it more than 10 or 15 yards...

And thank god for a ps3 fanboy dev. Finally
That first question starts to get into that grey area of "things I'm probably not supposed to talk about in depth." To be as vague as possible, anything that uses memory during gameplay is taking up the space needed for more custom sounds. As for the second question, we would have to triple the number of stadiums, uniforms, sound effects, and commentary lines in our game to fill a blu-ray.

Maybe? I can't remember if that kind of functionality exists in the hardware. I think the best I could do is have it play a random song from the playlist each time.

It should only be about 20 megs

The "week or so" was based on a general timeframe for how long MS and Sony take to approve it. As soon as we hear something back we will let you guys know.
