That's awesome, post of the day as far as i'm concerned!

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

@KeyserSoze: Michigan doesn't need that Minnesota rivalry game for a visit because they have 2 other conference rivalry games and one non-conference that you can schedule for week 4 or wherever you prefer to get your visits done.

Not to mention the 6* prestige and all excellent/elite school ratings.

/OT
However, there are a few things I have seen reading through all 43 or so pages of this thread that I can confirm from my own experience.

1. Only offer a scholarship when you are 1st int (unless you can't seem to budge -- or possibly offering on the same week as the upcoming visit to prime him to commit?)
2. Manual calls and quick calls are both viable methods because of how predictable quick calls are and how efficient manual calling can be. I have found that by quick calling recruits for 30-40 minutes for a week or two, and manual calling just on the week of the visit, I had enough pitches unlocked or time to unlock them and to get 3 very high/most visit. This results in an A visit against a conference opponent and A+ against a rival opponent I believe.

The most interesting phenomenon involving the quick calls is that in the first 2 weeks of using it you can generally unlock pitches, but beyond that it seems like it will always be going for interest gains even though their best pitches aren't unlocked. This usually isn't a problem that one week of manual calling can't solve, I just wonder when the randomness of CPU calling that involves swaying comes into play and how to avoid it.

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

What I have found successful....

Overall Strategy
Divide recruiting into two seasons (Weeks 1-11 and the rest). Each season I target the 10 players I want and spend one hour each on them. This should get you the 20 players you want every season. Usually the first season I will target those players I need, and the second season I will go after those 4-5* prospects that no one has seemed interested in. My biggest success was landing the #2 QB (5*) at Idaho simply because no one went after him for some reason. As the "U" or other bigger schools (I could routinely get a class of 4-5 5*, 10+ 4* recruits each yr).

Scholarship Offers
In my first recruiting season, I initially will only offer scholarships if I am #1, as there is a slight chance they will immediately sign with you. If two or three other schools have scholarship offers out there, then I will offer one to keep up in interest with them. For the second season I immediately offer scholarships to build up interest quickly. Those players who didn't have me in the top ten and then after an offer still don't have me in the top ten, I drop and move on.

Visits
It is important to SCHEDULE your games appropriately. Know your school's rivals, etc. Schedule a prime home game early and prime home game late (one for each recruiting season). I strategically schedule visits based on maximizing my difference in interest from the other schools (not maximizing my schools interest). Thus in the first recruiting season I will schedule a visit early if the other schools (which the computer typically does) schedule late. If I am fighting another school for a visit and they have him already scheduled for a visit, then I will usually try to schedule right after their visit to limit their increase in interest. I've also found recruits are more easily swayed (or it seems so to me) the week right after a visit. On other thing, scheduled games in week 15 are a waste as you cannot schedule a visit that week. Let it be a bye that week.

Offseason
Early on in a program, I will promise very easy promises to meet to build up some integrity thus later on down the line some far reaching promises will go farther. There are some EASY promises you can make (like promise a game in a players home state if they're from your state) to build up integrity. Promises are also a quick way to really bump up interest. You should make promises to every player to really build up your integrity and keep it way up. After all it gives you a boost in influence for a little time spent (ie a great return on investment).

I still have not learned if certain promises are directly tied to the players interest in them. IE Does "guarantee early playing time" work more effectively for a recruit with a Early Playing Time attribute of high+ versus one with average? Anybody know?

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

for the post above about promises.. i don't think it ties in at all really.. i think they just pretty much add a certain ammount of interest on the prospect depending on how good the promise was.. like the first four or five add a minimal gain in interest where the second group of promises you have to unlock would add quite a bit more, and then if you promise a national championship i'm pretty sure it's gonna almost garuntee you a commit, atleast it always does me.

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

My best advice...

For those of you who MUST land that 5* recruit. Just create a bunch of new coaches, assign them to all the teams competing with you for the 5* recruit, then go into recruiting and withdraw all the scholarship offers for every team EXCEPT yours. This works very well around week 9. After you do it, remember to delete all the new coaches you created. Now you got your playmaker. Have fun

Cheat your way to get what you want? Do you hit reset after every loss as well? Worst advice ever.

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

I have noticed that when recruiting, if a player is soft towards you that they can completely shift and sign with someone else. So why is that when their soft to a cpu controlled team that you cant get them to shift back to your side? I lost 2 5* guys in week 13 after they had me at number 1 since weeks 3 and 5.The thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that I lost a recruit to LSU after LSU didnt even offer him a scholarship until the very ast week of the offseason. One went to a one loss LSU and the other went to an unranked Ole Miss. Im in the Pac 10 as Hawaii, one was from Honolulu and the other was from somewhere in California. But I got beat...I dont get it. Next year they should change the soft crap to verbally committed or something. Maybe if that was the case I wouldnt be so infuriated. Have any of you guys ever been able to get a guy to sign to your team after they went soft to a cpu team?
