Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

i tried implementing some of the strategies last night and am having much better success... In my Western Michigan dynasty, i quick called for 30 mins for the first 2 weeks on the recruits and less time for any recruits beyond that... I offered scholarships to those that listed me at the top of the list. So far i've got 4 recruits to sign in 3 weeks, granted they are only 1-2 star recruits. Thanks for the help all

Wow lots of great info in this thread

has anybody else noticed or tracked the Grade Method vs. the Stars method?

I am in my first year still and would love to get good 80+ freshman to build the program

The ordering of the recruits....does it matter if you are spending all 10 hours recruiting with calls, hard pitches, etc?

Also, when you have two teams 100% full on the interest (without a commit), is it still beneficial to hard pitch to that recruit or to have contact with him at all?

If you hard pitch (3) things (to completion), is it 3X the interest gain as it would be if you did (1) hard pitch or is there a diminishing returns the more you do?

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

is it just me or does it seem that if you are not going to spend a lot of time recruiting a player you are better off leaving that player OFF your board all together. It seems that there is both a better chance that he will NOT lose as much interest in your AND there is a better chance that he will not get any other attention and possible not get any other offers. It sure seems that all 35 of my targets (which includes 3 stars) get a TON of offers and the guys at the bottom who I don't have time for quickly move me down the list. however, I have noticed that a lot of 5 and 4 stars that simply don't have the qualities that I am looking for so I didn't target them still have me in their top 3 LATE in the season and typically have very, very few schools recruiting them.

Any thoughts?

I'm keeping track of the grades of my recruits and how many stars they had during the recruiting phase and their final "OVR" rating. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of data yet.

havent played since 07 on ps2, so just wondering about the xbox 360 recruiting system...is there still offseason recruiting or is it all like the inseason? Like does everyone commit during in season, or do some guys carry over to the ofseason with high interest in you? Just started with inseason and its mindblowingly detailed, im just so lost...

there is recruiting to do just about every week during the season, you'll get a few recruits during the season, but i'd say the majority will still come postseason,

Yes! You still have a chance especially if you have an upcoming visit for the recruit. Still, it's high risk because even if you put 6 or 7 hours into hard selling him (when trying to get him to #1 interest) you could definitely lose him. It really depends on the circumstance. If they have given another school a soft verbal you may not want to risk it, but if they haven't given any school a soft verbal it might just be worth it IF you can afford to spend that many hours on one recruit.

All in season bro....and yeah it can be a bit overwhelming but the more we learn about quick call it may help ease the stress of constantly recruiting every week....including bye weeks...

I'd still love an option to go back to just recruiting in the 5 weeks of the offseason...but I won't hold my breath...I like recruiting but I don't like it when Its about 75% of my gameplay.

This thread should be stickied so we can get some more advice from guys like OMT...i know Im a broken record.

Re: NCAA ALL THINGS RECRUITING THREAD!!

So I've been playing this game since release and just, like within the last 90 seconds, found out about quick reordering of your recruiting board. I generally keep my board sorted by who's most interested in playing for my team. I went to hit L1 for a quick search to find another C and hit R1 for whatever reason and the 'REORDER RECRUITING BOARD' dialogue box came up.

NICE!!!
