Re: Online dynasty concern

I have never been a online gamer, but I am about to go out and buy a gold membership to do this online dynasty with some buddys. Is this a real issue, what I mean is the game broken? If anyone has some information so we don't start up the dynasty only to have it not work.

I hope EA releases some info about this because this is a game killer for me. My brother, who lives 2 hours away, went and bought the ps3(and NCAA) because we could finally play against each other in an online dynasty and now this news is surfacing. We have held off on starting one as we are waiting on post patch rosters to come out and now we may have to wait on a 2nd patch to play. Touting online dynasty as one of the biggest features and having it blow up like this is REALLY bad.

First off, thanks to Adam for addressing all of the concerns here and acting as an intermediary between EA and some of NCAA's most devoted fans. I hope that all of the posters here have been respectful of you and realize that you didn't cause the problems, but that your participation on this site might represent a rare opportunity to address and fix some of the problems with our purchase.

Second, I think that EA (thanks in part to OMT) is becoming aware of the roster and online dynasty problems and I believe that they are concerned. Yes, they will probably sell millions of '09 copies irregardless, and yes, they are the only college football game in town. But I think they're also well aware that NCAA has a more hardcore fan base than Madden players, and that it only takes a few years of missteps by a sports franchise for them to lose the trust of gamers. Just ask 989 Sports, NBA Live, or perhaps the NHL 2k crew, unless they get their act together soon.

To me, the online dynasty problem is more serious than the roster problem b/c it completely breaks a feature that was a key selling point for this title. We probably could survive without roster names (or with not editing roster names), even if that was advertised, but if you say "You can play your dynasty online with friends" and it never worked from Day One, then yes, that is a HUGE problem. Hopefully the guys over at EA can get it fixed.

Re: Online dynasty concern

I have built a community of 2 leagues and 24 guys surrounding this feature. To say im a little dissapointed is an understatement. The feature in it's conception is THE GOAT feature ever attempted in a video game.... alas attempted is the key word here.

Were suppose to advance to week 2 tonight after our big kickoff weekend... and im gonna have to strap on my depends in preperation of pushing the advance button....

i had been patient with the roster bugs, the gameplay issues, staying positive about re-learning the way you play the game with this version. Recruiting new owners for leagues, driving interest up in the game with my websites and community work... but no more. Until this is fixed im just sitting on the sidelines and thinking how screwed we all are. I sincerely hope Adam and EA take this seriously and rush a solution out the door as fast or faster than the roster patch.. this is bigger IMO. But what do i know.

again thanks for your apparent willingness to take on the community's wrath Adam, i hope you understand the frustration i have only comes from the fact that i've put alot of work into this game too, and now it appears all for not.

Ryno, I feel for you community guys. It is the positive feed back that you guys gave this game especially this feature that had me buying the game 5 days early for an extra $20 (I don't regret that. I love NCAA football). I hope that no one tries to come down on you guys about this stuff.

It not working as advertised out of the box has me in a very uncomfortable position. This game with the game play issues on its own would be a return for me, but I committed to an online dynasty and 11 other people, so it's not that easy. But now with this happening to us, or league might be DOA. People don't want to have to continue to wait for things to get patched and fixed weeks and months after the release of a game before we can actually play. While our websites isn't as "pretty" as yours we have a great group of guys who up until yesterday were really committed. Now I'm not sure. That is the most frustrating part for me personally.

That about sums it up for me too. I've worked hard on getting a good group of guys together and this is really fustrating because I bought the game this year for this feature.

You're absolutely right. We got 15 people working on this exclusively right now.

That is great news, hopefully they can figure it out quick. Is this confirmed that its a server issue? Or is it possibly people duplicating our league names?

Re: Online dynasty concern

I had to register to give my feedback on this matter.

3 of my friends & I started an online dynasty for the XBOX 360.

After the preseason & first few weeks went off without a problem, we noticed in Week 3 that one of my friends results had changed (in a game vs. the CPU) from comfortable win to a loss (that looked like a CPU simulation) after I had seen the actual results just before I advanced the week.

At first we gave the game the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe we did something wrong, so we went ahead and deleted that dynasty and started all over again. Well sure enough in Week 2 the exact same thing happened to another one of my friends despite me again seeing the actual results before I advanced it and triple-checking to make sure that everyone was set to "Ready to Advance".

Now that I've done some research on this online, I see that it's a fairly common problem that needs to be addressed in a timely manner by EA. I understand that the roster patch is important, but IMO this COMPLETELY negates arguably the best feature of this year's game.

The Online Dynasty working properly NEEDS to be Priority #1 for EA or they're going to be in a world of hurt when it comes to the overall satisfaction of their consumers (not that it's in the best shape anyway).
