I'll send a personal ''thank you'' to OMT first thing it's released, via PM. I just hope it all goes as planned.

I thought that you would be excited to read that. Now saying it will be in the patch and it actually being in the patch are two different things, but its gotta feel good that they at least view it as high priority.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement

Thanks, bomza! I got 25 teams saved on a USB drive, and that has been holding me over for playing head to head games. I'm just one of those guys who has got to have all the names in before I start my dynasty. I do it manually myself, and have no problem with the masochistic nature of the process. I am barely affected by the flaws of the game itself (the kickoff return s**t raises a brow, my friend has returned like 10 kicks on people already), but I am satisfied with how much more faster, fluid, and user play friendly (I never let CPU make the play) 09 is. Throw in alternate unis (don't even ask what my reaction was last year when they were left out!), and I am satisfied with 2 player games until the patch comes and I can fill out the rosters for multiple dynasties! Thanks everyone!

I was going to do an official patch announcement of some kind when I knew, and still will, but I'll give a sneak peak based on what I know cause I love your avatar so much.

We fixed 2 recruiting exploits
Fixed a rare online desynch
Added half time highlights
Changed custom sounds so you can hear your opponent's while on the road
Fixed the exploit that custom sounds will tip you off when your opponent is going to fake punt/kick on 4th down
That's all I can remember off the top of my head. There are some others but I don't have the patch list in front of me as I'm posting at home right now.

It is still up in the air as to the stuff that we didn't have identified until the game went public. They are all on the gameplay team so I am not involved in their decision whether or not to fix them. The NCAA team's top two issues we want fixed is kick coverage and sliders.

It is best to wait on an official announcement, because any of this could change at any minute. I'll let everyone know once everything is locked down and finished, cause I don't want to mislead anyone. ONCE AGAIN, these aren't promises!
That all sounds great.

Hopefully some Defensive "tweaking" (pass rush, pass rush, pass rush pass rush pass rush) and some Offensive "tweaking" (pancake blocks pancake blocks pancake blocks pancake blocks pancake blocks) will also be included.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement

this patch is really sounding like its going to help make a major impact on the game and that is great to hear!! Im pumped about the custom sounds now being heard in opponents stadiums! That's a big one for me! Its sad that all this needs to be addressed in a patch but at least we have the capability now to do that and thank you EA for taking the time to take care of your customers. Whoever bashes EA needs to wake up and realize that they really do care.

Thanks again OMT for all your hard work!

Some like OMT do care, but I'm sorry to say he seems to be the exception rather than the rule. I got a very cold response from EA support on a bug in the game this year. And EA really needs to take a hard second look at who they are using for their bug testing and their timetables for getting things done by.

It should not be a yearly occurance that major bugs are in the game every time it is released. They just need to get their priorities straight. I remember one year for the PC version they were bragging about shiny helmets. As if anyone gives a rats *** about shiny helmets. Meanwhile there were many other problems with the game.

Yeah, the grass looks much better this year now, but was anyone complaining last year about how bad the grass looked? I don't think so. I would have gladly gone another year without realistic grass if my custom configs were bug free and my running back wasn't trying to pitch the ball and run fast when using LT when I just want him to run faster.

Its a lot easier for me to use LT for sprint instead of RT, but I can't use LT for sprint now since the player will still try to pitch the ball (the default) along with whatever command you change to LT, and presently I've getting hand cramps using LB for sprint instead.

Thanks for the info. Some years it's hard to get any info at all on Madden or NCAA from EA or anyone and its nice just to know you're there and responding.

Thanks again.
No, we can't adjust those. That would require a screen change which we can't do in a patch.
