Basically......after a few days of playing, I just leave all sliders on default, other then kickoff and punt length. Those are about the only 2 damn sliders that work right.

All the rest have the opposite effect or no effect. From what I tested, if you increase run block and or pass block for human, the effect is the cpu break block increases.

Increasing running agility for human has a negative effect. Instead of making you more agile, it makes you less agile the more you increase it.

Running agility don't do anything for the CPU at all.

Run blocking for the CPU don't do anything for the CPU at all.

All the rest of the sliders don't seem to have an effect at all.

I swear it's like EA let the interns code the sliders this year LOL.

Hmmmm considering the people who make NCAA and Madden are in 2 different studios in 2 different states, it shouldn't be.

The studio that makes madden is located in Florida. The studio that makes NCAA is in California I think. The studios that make NBA Live and FIFA are in Canada. And the studio that makes Fight Night is in Chicago. Well it was Chicago until they closed that studio down last year. Think they moved that one to Texas.

I have PMed both Ian and OMT about the importance of this issue. It's cool that a lot of you are trying to find a way around this, but it would be more help, if you'd also contact them about actually adding this issue to the 2nd patch, if possible. Otherwise, for those of you who enjoy the game the way I do, offline franchise, it's about worthless.

This workaround or whatever, just isn't going to cut it.

I agree I can't stand it. I was playing as penn st(me) vs Iowa (cpu) I realize Iowa is a worse team, Still you shouldn't be able to dominate with short pass constantly like I was. The game should be a little closer than penn st. 42 Iowa 6 and Penn st. completing 32 of 34 passes. i upped awareness to to 75( anymore ruins my run game) and knockdowns to 80 it doesn't help. The defenders in the middle run from the wr's like the plague. I have been playing on aa;I will try moving to heisman tommorrow, but if the game does not get more enjoyable I think i am going to go back to playing mlb2k8 until madden comes out. At least with slider tweaking that game is playable.

Im sure we are way beyond this now, but so to make the HUM pass rush better (i.e. lower CPU pass block) we will also be lowering our own pass block? So no CPU sliders work at all?

As far as effectiveness of sliders - what are they actually supposed to do - I mean internally. Is there code that adjusts a player's or positions effective ratings based on slider settings? How difficult is that, for patching purposes, to go back in and actually see code-wise what a slider is doing?

Personally testing sliders is always a big problem for me because I might be getting no push from my OL and (09 bugs aside) is that because my HUM PB is too low, my CPU break block is too high, because of the teams I'm playing with, personnel, am I just not a good runner, too high a difficutly level etc.? Is this team "supposed" to be able to pass well against "that team" on "this level?" So I applaud those on the board who post slider settings - this can't be easy I guess the answer is just play with "even teams" and then you can tell. I'm always afraid of making a particular slider too high or low because of those x factors listed above.

I know the sliders also are fine-tuning. The main difficulty is the difficulty level, the sliders aren't supposed to have enormous effects, just to tweak the AI a bit. How do you approach this in development?
