Re: Stadium Updates

OMT,

Here are some updates to Carter-Finley Stadium (NC State), I know some of these have been addressed - I hope it doesn't bother you that I reiterate them.

A.1 NCAA 09 Screen Shot - South Endzone

A.2 Current Carter Finley Stadium picture

Updates: Two New Video Screens, new band location, Red Tarp/Ball Catch w/ "Block S" logo over stone entrance tunnel.

B.1 NCAA 09 Screen Shot - Entrance Tunnel

B.2 Current Picture of the Entrance Tunnel

B.3 Picture highlighting "wolfpack" statue

B.4 Picture highlighting "Block S" logo on entrance wall

B.5 Good picture of new video screen/ "Block S" logo on wall/ entrance

Updates: "Stone" entrance tunnel, "wolfpack" statue (players touch this during entrances a la Clemson's Howard's Rock), Red Tarp/Ball Catch w/ "Block S" logo over stone entrance tunnel,"Block S" logo on the walls on both sides of the entrance.

C.1 NCAA 09 Screenshot - Stands opposite Vaughn Towers

C.2 NCAA 09 Screenshot - Student Section/Sideline

C.3 Current picture - Carter Finley Stadium

Updates: The trees outside of this corner of the stadium have been cut down (C.1), no more hedges in the stadium, wall colors have changed to the dark gray used on end zone walls.

ALSO: I know this is being overly nitpicky, but I figured I'd point it out - flags for each team in the ACC fly over the stands pictured in C.1 (see C.3 for reference) and the opposite stands (The poles for the flags are in the game... this is not a big deal - but it would be neat to see in the game next year). And while I'm nitpicking, the Vaughn Towers (I'm sorry I don't have a screenshot, but this is NOT in the game) now have "NC STATE UNIVERSITY/C. RICHARD VAUGHN TOWERS/WOLFPACK CLUB" signs on them as seen in this picture.

Thanks!

Re: Stadium Updates

For ASU, the sun is wrong. For a late afternoon game, the side OPPOSITE of the press box is the sunny side (the home side). I've played 3 late afternoon games so far and each time it is the away side that has the sun (press box side). the Tempe skyline is south, the closed end of the stadium is north, the press box is west. and the home team sideline is east.

Re: Stadium Updates

Are we going to get the AlamoDome fixed? It is by far the most incorrect stadium in the game.

Re: Stadium Updates

That's the third stadium where the sun angle is backwards (UNM and Stanford as well). I wonder if this is the case for all stadiums. I am going to try an pay attention to other stadiums that I have been to and see if the angle is wrong there as well.

OMT,

This will all actually be done before the season begins THIS year. They actually are just about done with it, just putting final touches on it.

Let me know if you need anything for it to get it updated.

Thanks for all of your help!

Just to let you know, its been like that since this game has been next-gen. Kinda sucks doesn't it? I honestly doubt they'll fix it either.

Add Nebraska to the list with the wrong sun angle. Afternoon shadows should be on the press box side. Hopefully we get progressive lighting back next year and this takes care of itself.

That said, overall I think the new lighting looks very realistic, especially during overcast games, with the possible exception of dusk games where they went a little heavy on the orange. Adding progressive light to the new lighting model would be awesome.

Re: Stadium Updates

I don't see why the next-gen versions don't have most of the things that the last-gen systems had, although the next-gen systems are capable of much more.

The reason they can't do it now is because the tech they used only allowed for static end zones. Adam has mentioned that they are getting some new technology that will be able to fix this. Thus, by NCAA 10, we most likely will see the proper endzones for bowl and champ games.
