that patch is done. They were working on a gameplay patch before they stopped to address the roster glitch. Now that the roster patch is seemingly finished, they are back working on the issues that involve gameplay.

once again, that first post was to talk about what items they felt were key issues that should be patched or looked at to be patched. Adam has already mentioned that they were working on the gameplay patch when they stopped to fix the roster issue. Now that the roster issue is seemingly finished, they are back to working on the gameplay patch.

Re: NCAA 09 Gameplay Issues (response from EA)

i think online dynasty fixes need some love before gameplay... i posted this in another thread but maybe ill get an official reply here.

I've looked around and havn't seen this particular bug mentioned yet.

This has happened twice now in our dynasty. Coach logs into dynasty, selects play against CPU, plays their game... goes to upload the results and get "Dynasty Servers Not Available" then gets the options to "retry servers" or "try again later".... hits the retry servers a gazillion times for up to an hour, to no avail. Finally has to hit try again later and then the game gets lost and he has to replay it.

It also shows a "restart" on their user card. This bug is brutal to deal with from a league commish standpoint. Anyone else see this? This could kill our dynasty's until a patch.

Here you guys, this was taken from the "Patch Announcement thread"

Take it for what you will, but that makes me believe that there will be a gameplay patch at some point.

Will there be a patch? Sure seems like it. Will it come out anytime soon? Sure doesn't seem like it, based on past experience.

If you're like me, and you feel that the game is basically unplayable the way that it is right now, you essentially have to wait until September or October for NCAA to come out -- and even then who knows how much of this stuff the patch will even be able to address.

that's hilarious right? TheFuture, you've done a great job of honest communication with fans addressing problems with EA football we've seen for years. I recommend you stick to that discussion instead of PR talk.

from my experience reading this forum, this is the most plagued release in NCAA history. you may say this is the best NCAA ever, but it should be because it's the newest. the game has no excuse to ever downgrade. to have broken features that werent broken before is inexcusable too.

you may also say our expectations go up thats why we're not happy. well, its not a false or artificial expectation because other sports games out there get things right.

the worst part of all this? no reviewing mag or site has addressed any of the bugs in the game and give out ratings without checking for bugs. wait, that can't be worse than actual testers at EA that get paid to find bugs miss MAJOR ones. lol.

Ditto I was looking forward to playing in an online dynasty all year long but it's impossible to play this game in its current state. We have given Tiburon a pass for three years now its time to bite the bullet and fix this broken game no matter what the cost.

We paid 60 dollars for this game unless you are going to give me half of my money back I don't want half of a game.

Please Tiburon fix the major game play issues in this game before December and you will have a customer and evangelist for life.

Re: NCAA 09 Gameplay Issues (response from EA)

Sliders work fellas....

Everyone should also set their auto-subs as follows below!

Sub In and Out:

QB Out 0
Qb In 1
RB Out 79
RB In 100
WR Out 0
WR In 1
FB/TE 0
FB/TE 1
OL Out 0
OL In 1

DT Out 84
DT In 90
DE Out 85
DE In 90
LB Out 0
LB In 1
CB Out 0
CB In 1
S Out 0
S In 1

NJPapi's Heisman Sliders: Again DO NOT CHANGE CPU SLIDERS ONLY USER

Injuries On or Off
Fatigue On
Quarter Lenght 8 minutes (Or your preference)
Playclock On
HFAE On
Ice Kicker On
Quiz QB Off

Penalties:

All maxed out except for roughing the passer which is set at 40.

Universal Offense (Works for both CPU and User)

QB Accuracy: 50 (This is important to never raise or lower from default, it provides the best balance of accuracy and strength depending on your qb)

Pass Blocking: 0 (This will help the weak pass rush from both sides)

WR Catching: 20 (This will keep drops at a realistic rate)

RB Ability: 45 (This is a huge change for this set, since it has proven in my findings to not allow the cpu to spin and juke when there is a hole, they know run through a hole)

Run Blocking: 100 (This needs to remain this high to help the weak cpu)

Universal Defense (Works for both User and Cpu)

Awareness: 85 (This will keep the defense honest and will help lower the incredibe picks by the cpu and user)

Knockdowns: 100 (This will help swat passes but not to the point of swating passes without looking)

Interceptions: 0 (This will help keep the high number of picks down)

Break Block: 30 (The theory is that this helps the pass rush but it does not. By lowering the pass block to 0, we are addressing the pass rush as much as we can. This slider is more beneficial for the run game, I was sacked 5 times in my last game)

Tackling: 15 (Biggest change, yes 15 is just right for both sides. Keep in mind that you will need to remove your fingers from hit sticking cuz that wont work as affective and you will miss tackles. At this set the cpu and human defenders seem to gang tackle more and if you play your correct assigments then you wont have issues tackling. Plus the fact that rb ability was lowered helps overall)

Universal Special Teams (Works for User and Cpu)

FG Power: 5 (I have found that at this set anything higher then 47 is hard unless you have a stud kicker)

FG Accuracy: 35 (This will make long kicks harder)

Punt Power: 45 (This will help stop the easy return game. Try and angle kick at all times)

Punt Accuracy: 65 (This will help your angle punt game)

Kickoff Power: 70 (This will put the ball at the goal line or deeper to stop the long gains on returns)

I didn't want to ruin the game for you, which is why I didn't respond to your previous post asking about the kicking team's coverage.

I won't go into detail because if you don't see a problem then hey, more power to ya... but it certainly does not reflect football in anyway shape or form. It reflects computer programming of a digital character within the game's scope.

Players are supposed to stay in their lanes until a certain point and then break on the ball. The way it is portrayed in this game is poor, at best.

Again, this is the first thing you see when you start your first game upon opening the package. I could go on with other issues but it's obviously pointless to reiterate the same thing over and over when some obviously don't care and are enjoying the game for what it is.
