Trust me I wish I got the golden copy Im not saying its not broken, I am im getting out to about the 35 or 40 as well is the cpu. All I am saying is that kickoff guys are supposed to stay in their lanes as they come down the field. As far as the game as a whole being broken I disagree with that. It def. has its problems but not totally broken. Maybe it it something as simple as the speed of the guys on kickoff coverage.

I haven't heard this.
I'm guessing the first post in this thread.

They will look into the issues and see which one's are patchable.

Sure, but the message is clear, the gameplay is garbage. This is the 3rd year of next-gen NCAA Football. If you look at the game after year 3 of the PS2 (NCAA 2004), you'll see they are SO far behind last gen. I'm pissed b/c I paid $60 for an incomplete game, a rush job. For the life of me I can't figure out why EA doesn't make gameplay the #1 priority then worry about the features like Mascots.

And if they want to make an arcade game and call it NCAA "Wide Open" Football, that's fine, just PLEASE give me some sliders that actually work. Let the kids and the causal fans have their fun with their 62-60 shootouts, but give me the option to play a 17-10 Big Ten game.

EA Sports paid good money to be only player making college football game, that means all eyes on them. If they can't handle negative feedback, then step aside and let another company play.
I am enjoying the game, so are alot of others, but it isnt like we arent seeing glitches. I want those fixed like everyone else does. Everything you said has been said countless times. EA devs reading your post arent thinking "Hey, another refreshing idea" its the same old rhetoric. Yes, we want it fixed and yes, we want it now. But while they are testing it and working on fixing it, its ok to be pissed, its ok to say there are things you dont like, but some people have to just use some common sense.

It is a rush job, but to say EA cant handle the criticism, thats absurd. I havent heard Adam or Ian or anyone ask for lenience. They went and started this post about what they are looking at, they got the roster issue fixed (or at least, on the way). They couldve just hid behind the scenes and counted their money. They came here and engaged us in dialogue and are working with us. ANd its not like this is a two man company, they are the voices we hear, but there are dozens if not hundreds who worked on this game, but these are the two that we hear from. Give them some credit for sticking around with this, would you have stuck around? I admit, id be tempted to go hide out.

With that being said, i cant wait for any and all fixes that are offered. Its a good game now, it has potential to be a great game with some things being fixed.

One thing, that i consider a gameplay issue is the playcalling by CPU (just the QB choice play), but also, the amount of missed tackles by anyone. I do like that its more wide open in the running game, but i dont want everyone to feel like Barry Sanders. I broke a long run with Antone Smith today, and it was pretty sweet to watch, but not a run i could see him making realistically (unless he pulls his head out of his butt)

Agreed, the whole game isnt broken, but there are issues. They need to be fixed, and the sooner the better. I love the running game though. I know defense is all fubar'ed but i love being able to run the ball. Makes me want to go with an option team like GT or Navy this year

So was the talk of fixing the gameplay issues just that talk, are we not going to see a patch to address this?

I think we'll get one, but I don't think it will be anytime considered relatively soon. The gameplay patch for turnovers came in like December last year. Alt uniforms in 07 came about the same time.

I think you are taking his post way out of the context in which it was meant.
Ian has stated they would "look" into these issues. And his first post in this thread was day one of the game. The post I quoted was from yesterday....it's obvious his opinion has changed. And plus, using words like 'unanimous', and 'everyone' is enjoying the game pretty much means that it's a done deal. If he really believes this, why would they change(patch) anything?

Exactly, and this makes me worry. To me this just means that they'll fix it around the same time they get it implemented into 2010, that way they won't have to do it twice. I can see teh patch coming out in December(if at all) when this game will begin losing it's momentum in the eyes of many.

Look out for next year, the gimmick(instead of Wide Open Gameplay) will be "New! Lights Out Defense!" it'll be too easy to play & dominate on defense.

Will the sliders work?

I appreciate that Ian and Adam are on these boards, but I don't think them being here is a signal that they (EA Sports) is making this "die hard' community a priority. In Ian's first post on this thread he gives the impression that they are currently working on a second patch to address our concerns and these issues would be resolved in the near future.

Now fastforward to this quote from Ian -

"I think you should probably give NCAA a second look. The wildfire knee-jerk reactions have definitely subsided and it's nearly unanimous that everyone is enjoying the game (which I honestly have to say being at EA, it's been like 4+ years since I've seen such positive reactions for NCAA).

Also, the roster editing issue is going to be patched as soon as possible.

I don't want to try and sell you the game, but I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't buy the game on the opinion of a relatively small amount of people without trying yourself. Maybe a rental first or something... "

Sounds like a complete 180. Leading me to believe that a 2nd patch is not on the horizon anytime soon. You say to give them credit for sticking around with us. I give them credit for sticking around, but in case you haven't noticed, they have said very little in responses to game play issues, patches, broken WeatherChannel, etc.

While we're fixing gameplay issues, can we also fix the statistical bug regarding the drive summaries. As people have said earlier, it includes the yardage for a FG in length of the drive.
