Answer this...do you really want the DB in man coverage on a totally different player to turn and make a play on the ball when he never saw the ball coming?
No Ian your absolutely AA has shown some videos with big problems BUT in this case there is nothing wrong with that play we would much rather have what happen happen, then what would have happen last year

It's not "reversed."
Ok, that's how it has been in previous years too. The way to overcome high qb completion % last year somewhat was to drop wide receiver catch, not by dropping qba.

Any word Ian if you guys will fix the pass rush?

I think that along with a fixed QB completion %'s would help to neutralize the extraordinary QB play we're seeing.

WRC does nothing, though.

Ian,

I had the game for a day and I'm enjoying it. I only see two major issues.

#1) Qb's are too accurate (CPU QB's are averaging around 6 incompletions a a game and those are either drops, deflections or ints.). NCAA needs to implement more bad or errant throws. This is college and bad throws are a part of the game.

2) THERE ARE NO PENALTIES CALLED! This has been an EA problem forever whether its NCAA or Madden. Ive played 4 (10 min quarters) games and Ive seen 1 clip, 1 hold, 1 PI and two False starts with every penalty slider at 100....thats it. If a slider is at 100, the game should be flooded with penalties but that doesnt happen in EA football games.

Other than that I like the game but I would like it more if these things were fixed.

"whew", I am glad to see these things are being looked at. I have been playing since Saturday morning (probably about 7 hours total play) and I don't have enough of an opinion yet to simply just "over react". I do see the kickoff coverage thing mentioned by Blevins, but he mentioned the slider helps (I hate using sliders).

Again - thanks for being "on the ball".

Suggestion: add Fairdale Kings to beta testing! He actually matters to most gamers while many others would simply want to play early to feed their own needs.

Re: NCAA 09 Gameplay Issues (response from EA)

I don't want to sound like I'm piling on here, but things seem to be going from bad to worse. I would like to know from Ian if he knows whether or not the "turnovers" issue was fixed? I just completed my game against Arkansas and Casey Dick went 25-30 with 4 INT's, I threw 3 INT's with Rudy Carpenter and there were a total of 4 fumbles that game (although 2 were reversed) this was on AA with 7 minute quarters and sliders favoring the CPU. That brings the grand total of turnovers in that game to 9 (minus the two overturned fumbles, which would have made it 11 turnovers). I had stated in the impressions thread that I was seeing way too many turnovers but that I wouldn't call it an "issue" yet, but I'm kind of heading in that direction now.

Also this game illustrates the QB Accuracy issue, as Casey Dick is a "decent" QB, yet if you take away his INT's, he only threw one incompletion the whole game, I agree with others that there needs to be less interceptions and more errant throws/incompletions for the CPU especially.

Things should have been "looked at" before it was released and we spent $60 for a half-a$$ed game. The mere fact that EA has to release a patch the day of the release to fix all these problems just proves their incompetence.

Good post, these two issues have been present for quite some time and get in the way of achieving realism.

The majority of incompletions thrown in real college football games are not drops by the wide receiver or balls swatted away from defenders, but balls that fall to the ground untouched because they are over/underthrown or missed wide. The game needs to reflect that. This (along with the CPU taking more shots deep downfield) will help the passing game feel much more realistic.

Also, like Aaron said, when you max out the penalty sliders, there should be penalties. Please make them occur more.
