Co-sign. It must be the Cleveland water.

I am really having a blast with the game. I look forward to playing another 5 hours straight tonight!

There are some issues, of course, but nothing that is taking the fun out of this game for me at the moment. Heck, I have even lost 4 of 5 (playing 7 minute quarters on AA w/ some slider tweaks).

I think I've given up on the "Holy Grail" of games that will be perfect. I just want to have fun at this point in my life, and NCAA 09 gives me that in bunches.

Glad you're loving it as well!!!

Chalk me up as one on the band wagon as well. Although a number of little nagging things, I too have come to the conclusion to not expect perfection on games. Therefore, I'm going to enjoy for what it is and certainly get my money out of it.

For all the things it might do wrong, there are plenty of good things that offset it.

Back to playing...

Can anyone tell me:

Is the wide open gameplay (touchdown distances, big plays) realistic or is it way over the top?

Is the CPU throwing interception problem still there? From the last few pages, it seems like it still might be a problem?

Has anyone tried adjusting defensive tackling, awareness or any sliders that might make the D take better angles or play more aggressively towards the ball carrier?

Thanks....

In my opinion yes. As others and myself have seen, the defense (even on Heisman) is just unrealistically stupid at times and it doesn't react well to the kinds of plays that you are calling. Also, I caught 5 INT's and took 3 of them to the house as well as a fumble and a kick return....all in one game. I mean pick sixes are cool, but geez man that was ridiculous. What's worse is that you just don't "feel" like you earn big plays in this game...they just feel so ho-hum to me because they seem to happen so often. Part of the "magic" of a big play is that they don't happen very often and that's what makes them cool and rewarding, but personally in NCAA 09 they just feel cheap and unearned to me.

My above post kind of answers this. I won't say for sure that the bug is there, but I have seen too many in the games that I have been playing and that is with INT's at 0 on Heisman. I will probably have to get some more time in before I can be definitive with this anwser.

I have adjusted DEF Awareness, INT's and Knockdowns for the CPU and QB Accuracy, INT's and Knockdowns for myself. TO ME the Def Awareness helped a little bit but not enough to totally alleviate the issues I am seeing. INT's and Knockdowns did nothing as I am still seeing too many INT's and not enough knockdowns/drops. The QB Accuracy actually did work, as when I adjusted it too low my QB turned in to Rick Ankiel (pre-power hitting slugger days), so that was good to actually see that slider working.

I hope this helps you out some sir

I just finished the Arkansas State vs. Texas A&M game. I lost 28-21, but it was a fun game. I was in the game the whole time, but A&M was so hard to stop. The runningback on A&M played insane. He had over 150 yards and broke a tackle almost every play. I don't think Arkansas State is that bad though. There runningback has some skills and there defense ain't bad.

Re: Official NCAA Impressions Thread (360, PS3)

Lets hear some more impressions!!!

Few debate points.

1) thoughts on roster issues (any other freezing)
2) anyone try any dynasty stuff yet? see any stat issues? dynamic attendance working? field degradation? recruiting about the same or better?
3) any depth chart issues? or moving players round or menu lag?
4) do you feel like you have to use all the "arcade moves" (spin etc) to have success, or can you hit the hole in the running game?
5) any D-line pressure?

Really curious to hear how immersive dynasty mode is this year, any thoughts are appreciated!!

Add me to the list.

I am enjoying the heck out of this game, except the fact that UofL is pretty bad on defense, but I am having a great time. Each and every game there is something new that makes me jump out of my chair, pump my fist and replay 2 or 3 times, or better yet, make a video of it and show it off here.

The game is fun. And I can't say that I've seen all the quirks that others are seeing, maybe I am lucky or maybe I am not looking at the game hard enough. Which ever it is, I don't care. The game is fun, plain and simple and I am having a blast with it even though I just lost to Idaho 20-17 because Josh Wiley got ran over by the WR.
