The game is 720p native on both systems. The 360 just has a better upscaler than the PS3 does. So yes you'll get a 1080p output on 360 but it's not like the content is any different as you're just upscaling a 720p signal.

Re: Official NCAA Impressions Thread (360, PS3)

my first game of NCAA '09

North Texas @ Arkansas State(me). was listed as a rival

game was played on default AA with no changes at all, execpt kickoff(uped to 65 for both human and CPU) and FG power(lowered to 35 for both human and CPU)

7 minute quarters

score summary 1st 2nd 3rd 4th final
NT 7 0 7 7 - 21
Ark st 7 14 7 14 - 42

-------------NT - ark st
1st downs 8 - 14
total offense 298 - 318
rushes-yards-TD 14-11-1 - 45-184-4
comp-att-TD 10-29-2 - 13-15-1
pass yards 287 - 134
turnovers 3 - 2
fumbles 0 - 1
INTs 3 - 1
PR yards 0 - 188
KR yards 172 - 77
total yards 470 - 583
punts-ave 6-42.3 - 3-43-7
penalties 1-12(facemask) - 0-0(need to max out penalty sliders i guess)
T.O.P. 11:00 - 17:04

QBs
ark st. - Corey Leonard 13-15(86%) 134 yards 1 TD 1 INT, sacked 1 time, 3 rushes for 17 yards, 1 TD.
NT - Giovanni Vizza 20-29(68%) 287 yards 2 TDs 3 INT, sacked 1 time, 5 rushes for 11 yards 1 TD.

RBs
Ark st - Reggie Arnold 36 attempts 165 yards(4.5 YPC), 3 TDs, long of 32, 10 Broken tackles, 1 fumble, 2 rec. for 15 yards.(and somebody said screens were money for users? i had to fight just to get that.)
NT - ummm....yea. their RB was 6 att. 9 yards. their QB had more yards rushing with 11.

WRs
Ark st - Jarriel Norman 4 rec 43 yards
ark st - Brandon Thompkins 3 rec 32 yards, 1 TD.
NT - Casey Fitzgerald 4 rec 91 yards 1 TD
NT - Micah Mosley 3 rec 75 yards, 1 TD.(this HB burned me with a screen pass)

i love the feel on offense. NT couldn't do anything in the running game though.

i don't see any problem with the kickoff coverage with the kickoff power at 65 i normal got to the 25 on average. punts were off, but doing what undefeated did to help the PR really works.

my kicker sucked, miss a 40 yard FG too short. 57 rating sucks.

Re: Official NCAA Impressions Thread (360, PS3)

Alright, I just played my first 2 games.

I'll get the bad out of the way first.

All-American Difficulty is borderline unacceptable at default.

I played two games: first my Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Michigan.

I kicked Michigan all over the field to the tune of 31-10.

Passing was way too easy, as I completed 71% of my passes. I almost nailed a 57 yard field goal, and nearly took a punt back to the house, in which no one impeded my progress for a good 25 yards.

The CPU threw 5 INTS, 2 of which got taken to the barn.

My 2nd game was Florida(Me) at Tennessee.

This game was a little "closer" I won 27-10. It was actually 17-10 at one point.

When on the road, the home team seems to play with a aderenaline boost, which is great, that's a really nice touch. But I never really felt like I had a problem moving the ball whenever I wanted to.

I completed 61% of my passes and pretty much ran whatever felt like on offense..and nailed another long FG. 52 yds, with ease

The CPU threw 3 INTS, and I was treated to the sight of the CPU looking like it was blocking for me in a convoy as I was running the INT back, instead of making an effort to tackle me.

They had people running up field in front of me, instead of turning to takcle me. They eventually did once I had picked up about 30 yards.

Ive also seen CPU defenders, and some of my defenders, run away from ball carriers.

I was able to generate some decent pressure form time to time, and the only way I was really able to cause some havoc with the downlinemen was through manual control.

My biggest gripe by far though, is the CPU play calling and decison making. It is utterly hideous.

I'm seeing QB keeper and option plays being run with pocket passers on 3rd and 6. Im seeing Fullback dives being called on 3rd and 4 when down 14 points with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

I'm seeing the CPU just launch the ball after 1 step vs prevent defense, and intot he strength of a cover 2 right into all kinds of traffic...as if the programming had predetermined that is where the ball was going to go.

Okay, onto the good stuff.

There are finally, recognizable running lanes that you can set up runs through, instead of making an all out sprint to the outside, or running up the middle and twitchign the highlight stick like mad.

There are some truly wonderful looking sequences in the passing game. I launched a gorgeous bomb to percy harvin, that he effortlessly ran under in stride. The dude just evaportated the CBs cushion and glided right by to make the catch: Lovely.

I did see the CPU push the ball deep about 3 times in teh 2 games and complete one.

The CPU int he gm vs tennesse ran the ball quite a bit. Their back had 20 something carriers (6 min qtrs)..so the team played to its strength, their best palyer got plenty of touches, included 4 receptions..even if the play calling was questionable at times.

The sound is awesome, the game environment is lively..this game has by far the most "personality" out of any of the next gen EA football games to date.

Their is a definite "feel: to being the road team. I have missed this aspect of this series for years.

I can see this game playing very well. It would need some massive slider adjustments if I was to play on AA though.

I will need to play a couple of games on heisman to see if what I mentioned above plays out differently.

i dont have the game yet.. but remember that 08 the show is native 720, but if you remove 720p from the system display select it will up it to 1080p. it does however depend greatly on your TV. i have a sharp AQUOS 46in.. and using hdmi.. the show looked great in 1080p but is was a wider view which i had to change back to 720 because im near sighted and couldnt see from RTTS from the outfield w/ my right fielder.. lmao!

Re: Official NCAA Impressions Thread (360, PS3)

played the game real quick this morning on AA 5 minute quarters MSU (me) vs Cal. Lost 17-16 after going for two with 5 secs left in the game

Game played great both qbs threw between 50 and 55 percent. No rediculous kick returns and no crazy turnovers. I will dive deeper into it after work today. All I need now is someone to complete the PS3 rosters and I should be all good

The one cool thing about this game is that the guys who are "special " players actually have a feel to them.Like devine, Spiler , Mc Knight etc.

How many penalties are you getting in the game (user and comp) and are you getting different penalties?

Re: Official NCAA Impressions Thread (360, PS3)

Played about 4 games on default varsity (I'm rusty). Won all but one, pretty fun game. Can definitely feel the difference playing with elite teams and Noel Divine is insane.

Biggest problem is the passing game, it is way too easy for both Cpu/human. I have yet to see the Cpu throw more the 15 yards deep.

Going to try AA tonight.

Yeah I know. I just got a PS3 last week, my 360 died the week before. So I got to play the 360 demo for a couple of weeks, and I think it looks better than the PS3 version...slighty. If I was playing on a smaller TV maybe I wouldnt notice, but I play on a 57". So to me, I see stuff that looked better/smoother on the 360.
