But when someone citicizes EA saying they will never improve the game to a level of one's expectations because the game will sell no matter what, but yet said person buys the game no matter what then.....
Yeah, throw me in the category that it's still been worth the $60 - it has to be, otherwise I wouldn't buy it. I never once said that it isn't worth the selling price or "wasting money on the same ol crap" - those are your words.

But even so, just because I buy the game each year means I can't criticize a game for falling short of my expectations? I keep waiting for the one year it doesn't fall short. That day may never come, but I don't think I'm being difficult here - heck, I'm even fine with overlooking some issues that others would consider game-killers (punt/kick coverage). I had great experiences with the game on the PS2, I even liked the first next-gen version with the canned close-ups of the QB as he's walking to the line of scrimmage (it was like a built-in clock acceleration - which I think the game needs - but that's been discussed in other threads).

All I ask is that there's nothing in the game that is so broken that it ruins the game for me. Last year, interceptions was it, and it ruined a year of NCAA for me. That's why I jumped off the ledge when Bill Abner discussed the game the first night. I love NCAA - that and The Show are the only two games I pre-order each year (you can now add NHL 09 to the list). I just don't want to miss out on a game two years in a row because there's a fatal flaw in gameplay. That's all.

I never said that you were "wasting your money on the same ol crap", I made a general statement and followed that statement with that question. Never once, did I mention your name. You chose to respond to it, so I responded to your response.

And I never said that you couldn't criticize the game for not meeting your expectations. Not once. I questioned the reasoning for some of your criticism given your own actions, but never said that you couldn't criticize the game. If we weren't allowed to criticize the game and let our concerns be heard, how would Adam and them know whats disappointing to us and where we feel the game falls short?

All I was saying in that original post that sparked all of this was that if people would take the time to read thru the entire Q&A thread, this type of discussion and the "misguided" posts could be avoided.

But this has gone on long enough and its adding nothing to the topic at hand which is supposed to be questions for Adam, so I'm done.

Re: Adam Thompson (NCAA Designer) Q&A Thread

I have a question regarding Ohio Stadium, in the demo when you play night games there the field is appropriately lit but there is no source for the lighting (there doesn't appear to be any stadium lights turned on anywhere in the stadium). Is this a problem in the retail build? In some of the screenshots I've seen posted on EASW it seems that this issue might still be present. I know the stadium doesn't actually have permanent lights and they have to set up lights for night games but it seems odd to have the field lit with no apparent light source.

Here's an example of what I mean. Where is the stadium light source coming from in these pictures?

Here's a shot of the stadium setup for night games.

Okay guys, lets try to get back on topic a bit. This thing is starting to get a mind of it's own and will soon be closed, or simply won't be what people are looking for in it.

Adam, I was wondering with renovations for Husky Stadium in Seattle beginning possibly in late november of this year, and the Huskies facing a season at Qwest field next year, would you take the time to put Qwest Field into the game, or just have them play at Husky Stadium in the game anyway? Not sure if it would be worth the time to put in a stadium a team would be playing in for a year, two at the most.

Uh, you could do an advanced search and choose "show results as post" not "threads." That would fix your problem.

On another note, why can't OSU install permanent lights? I'm sure a university like OSU could afford it or, is it a tradition thing in not having them?

True night games are a rarity for them. They only bring in the temporary lights for 3:30 starts that carry over into the evening, and they don't play at night enough to justify permanently installing them.

This was changed late in the dev cycle because the team most notably Sean Bailey was able to return an insane amount of kickoffs for TD's. All you have to do is catch the ball stand still for second or two and then sprint for the sideline. You can do this in the demo because the demo is from a build before they changed it.

Sean is already aware of this problem along with the yellow zones being broken which is why the short passing game and slant routes are unstoppable in the game right now.
What I hate about the return game is that the guys in front of you blocking for you move in synchronization with the kick returner. I mean I move left and they all immediately move left and I move right and they all move right. Not only does it look stupid IMO but it's really detrimental in being able to read your blocks and get a good return.

Did you read the entire thread? I know its alot and it grew really really fast. Atleast did you read the first 30 pages or so? We all love ncaa and want it to be great. If the answer to ne of those questions is no. Then that kinda makes you a hyprocrite and lazy.

actually, I am on the EA payroll... And I am a No sir, yes sir type of guy. Whats wrong with that?

But I am curious as to how you feel that I am defending EA and why you chose to call me out. What is it that I did that made you say such a thing?

Acutally, don't tell me. For one this thread has already gone down that road and two, and more importantly, I honestly don't give a damn what you think about me or my actions.

See ya around..
